Vulva / vagina

This is lighthearted but I'm irritated!
DH maintains that there is no real difference between the vulva and vagina and argues with me when I tell him there is.
It's very silly. I say that the vagina in the inside part and the vulva is labia minora/ majora. He is totally BU?

Yes 🤔. He can't just decide anatomy. Unless maybe the vagina identifies as a vulva. Touchy subject.

He says it to annoy you, am I right? I expect you have to pick up his used pants too, and he has a really important hobby that takes up loads of the weekend.

I teach biology. I tell the kids that the vulva is the outside bit they can see. The vagina is the internal bit where the penis goes during intercourse. Explain it to him like he's 11.

I suppose some of this has inevitably come from chat around using plain language. DS2 is autistic and has really taken issue with the 'people with cervixes' stuff as he feels it's exclusionary.
DH thinks calling everything vagina is less pedantic! I'm happy to be anatomically correct.

Nope. He is much tidier than I am, we split chores equally and get equal time off. He's currently unloading the washing machine while I'm watching the last leg.

My DH is the same.

Said yesterday "did you know that the vagina has 6 holes?" I said it didn't. He them proceeded to name 4 holes on the vulva and got shirty when I pointed out the inaccuracy.

100%, however if you're being really picky, you could say that the nostril is part of the nose.
However good analogy.
It gets me so irritated that people call the vulva the vagina. I don't know why people do.

Well to be honest no one seemed to use the word vulva until about a decade again. It was always just known as the vagina.
Back in my school days (late 80s/early 90s) when we were taught the names we were taught the outside parts were called the labia.
I don't think I ever heard the word vulva until a few years ago.
So I don't think he is being that thick.
