Why does DH do this?

Conversation from earlier.

Him: where’s the mayo?
Me: in the fridge (obviously)
Him: what shelf?
Me: just have a look!
Him: would save a lot of time if you just told me which shelf

This happens often and I t’s infuriating. I do happen to know it’s on the 2nd shelf but why is he even asking? How much time is he going to save?! It’s not like a restaurant-style walk in fridge ffs. Does he just think I’m here to facilitate his life?

This thread has made me laugh. As soon as I saw the first post I knew what would follow! Its a man thing.
This is how it goes at mine:
DH -wheres the yoghurt? Followed by sound of fridge opening
Me- silently counting to 5
DH -oh here it is
It used to be:
DH- wheres the yoghurt? Opens fridge
Me-its at the front on the right. Hold up
I go to fridge. As I get there DH-oh there it is! Huh right infront of me! Gives a lovely laugh. Every. Single. Time.
No longer since I follow my count to five rule.😂

Oh and this one. DH-I don't know what you want to about (name anything you can think of)
ME- No you don't do you.
