Just starting Thrash

Iamateadrinker · 03/05/2026 18:57

So bad it's good 😊

burnoutbabe · 03/05/2026 19:32

Pregnant lady check!
It’s rubbish!
under Paris 2 is out sometime. Now that was good!

afrikat · 03/05/2026 21:00

Anyone planning on seeing Deep Water in the cinema? Looks like such a fun one. Renny Harlin, same director as Deep Blue Sea 🌊 💙 🦈

Hohofortherobbers · 03/05/2026 21:56

I didn't think Thrash was terrible, kind of on par with under paris. Far superior to the 5 headed shark. They're optimistic in planning the sequel already though, last scene was the weather forecast 😁

Binkybix · 10/05/2026 14:23

No one will watch Thrash with me, so waiting for an evening when I have the TV to myself!

This new shark film looks TERRIBLE. (And yes I will 100% be watching it when it comes to the UK)

Not until now! Thanks I've just looked it up 😎

I'm intrigued by the Hippo horror!

I went to watch the WaterPark Shark trailer linked above but it was blocked by YouTube for me. I googled it - looks absolutely brilliant - that sort of B-movie comedy style cult brilliance.

YouTube suggested this trailer instead for Whalefall which may appeal to us marine based horror lovers! This is the (utterly ridiculous Jonah style) plot:

A scuba diver in search of his deceased father's remains gets swallowed by an 80-foot, 60-ton sperm whale and has only one hour to escape before his oxygen runs out. After giving up on life, the young man is surprised to find a reason to live in the most dangerous and unlikely of places.

New one on Prime today..The Devil's Mouth. Kathryn Newton, who i love. Will report back...

afrikat · 29/07/2026 10:34

Update to The Devil's Mouth - completely predictable and slightly unhinged shark behaviour but above average for what you'd expect, and as usual Kathryn Newton is outstanding and definitely elevates the material. Plus some gorgeous Thailand shots. Recommend!

I’ll give it a go! I also love Kathryn Newton

Soubriquet · 29/07/2026 15:05

just finished it. I liked it

I'm still thinking about that whale film I linked above. I'm wondering whether actually any human has been swallowed by a whale and whether you'd still be alive and for how long or whether corrosive digestive juices would burn you up.

And (this is my weird mind) how it could be researched. Obviously it would involve some animal cruelty and some probably major risk to human life. Seems like the best options would be to try to catch a whale and put it in a seaworld type tank or cordon off with massive cable wire nets a sea area like they do for dolphins that are in the sea but at sea world places.

Or you could give the guinea pig diver (who would volunteer) a big tank of oxygen and a spare plus an air tag(!) and send them off to be swallowed in the hope you could track the whale and save them.

Bait is a great film. In a nutshell 'shark in a supermarket' It's actually really tense and engaging. I love the Sharknado films too.

thethoughtfox · 02/08/2026 20:46

Dangerous Animals is good. Serial killer and sharks? All the yes.

SpryLilacBird · 02/08/2026 22:19

Late to the party by several years, but I love a good shark film!

I watched The Meg 2 by accident at the cinema and loved it. Is it still worth watching the original Meg film? I watched Under Paris a while back and loved that too. Deep Blue Sea was also amazing and I agree with the poster who said that Samuel L's death is one of the best moments in shark film history!

I'll be making my way through some of the other films mentioned on here, thank you all! I'm actually genuinely petrified of great white sharks! Weirdly, I still go in the ocean and I love shark films. As a kid I used to think that Jaws was lurking in my local pool ready to eat me at any given moment!😂

Edited

Yes i really enjoy the first Meg film, both are super fun. I am also very scared of sharks when I go swimming in the sea but I also love being in the water so do it anyway. Spend most of the time convinced I am about to get eaten 🤣
