Ooh yeah the Meg was great! There was also one about a flooded supermarket where loads of sharks got in, can’t remember how it came to be flooded or even the name of it but that was also good. Nonsense but great fun!

Ahaha yes! That was batshit!

I’ve found my people!

The Reef is a great low budget Aussie shark film (its horrendously tense though!)

there’s one called Great White on Sky at the moment that we enjoyed. Frenzy is also a good fairly recent one

The Shallows is obviously a total classic as well as others mentioned!

Watching great white now! Love it!

I had empire of the sharks recorded but the sky box malfunctioned and lost the recordings. Sounded awesome and now I will never know.

@Mammyloveswine sorry OP I’m my excitement to reply about shark films I didn’t read your op properly and missed you were watching Great White. We enjoyed it too! Ooh proper in the mood for a shark movie now!

im not adverse to branching out into killer croc movies too 😂 - Crawl is a fantastic recent one that’s worth a watch

WhackingPhoenix · 08/08/2022 22:38

I’ve found my people! 🤩

Sharks are among my favourite animals and I can’t get enough of shark films!

Bait is a good one (it’s set in a supermarket and there are some fun little Jaws Easter eggs in it!)

I love a shark movie. The cheesier/less realistic the better.

Oh yes! I watched this recently. DS wandered in at some point, rolled his eyes at the TV and said " let me guess, another rubbish killer shark film?"
Me: "nope! Wrong. Killer crocs Grin"

Ikeasucks · 08/08/2022 22:46

Jaws, Deep Blue Sea snd The Meg

have watched the first 2 many times - The Meg was a hoot snd much better than expected 🦈

toeyroughskin · 08/08/2022 22:46

I'm terrified of sharks so am compelled to watch shark films. I think Sharknado becoming reality is my deepest fear. Also crocs/alligators. There was a rebooted episode of thunderbirds where chemicals spilt into the rivers and the alligators grew huge, to the point they could pull down a bayou style house. I was transfixed and appalled in equal measure Grin

Mythreefavouritethings · 08/08/2022 22:48

Open Water. Based on a true story and horrifying (sharks are a part of a bigger story rather than being the main feature, but very much present throughout). I have never come away from a film feeling the need for terra firma and real life as I did this one.

Frequency · 08/08/2022 22:51

For Killer Croc movies Rogue is a good watch.

Randomthoughts992 · 08/08/2022 22:52

Ditto for Deep blue and Jaws, I liked pirhanna .. okay not about sharks but decent film

Thatswhyimacat · 08/08/2022 22:53

Ooh yes! Ghost Shark, Sharknado, Megashark vs Giant Octopus, all greats. I think the sequels to 2-headed shark added more heads and we might be up to 5 headed shark attack by now.

I am sat watching (because MiL insisted) 2-Headed shark attack and I am very close to jumping in the sea!! 😭😂I recommend it.....

I think ive seen that, and they did many sequals with 3 headed shark, 4 headed shark etc. I think theyre up to 7 now. Quality

toeyroughskin · 08/08/2022 22:56

Why on Earth have I googled still images from the movies mentioned before sleeping? What sort of masochist must I be!

mycatisannoying · 08/08/2022 22:59

Love them! And might I say, just how classy is the first Jaws film?! No sex, no swearing, just good-old fashioned build up and excitement!

MintyGreenDreams · 08/08/2022 23:00

I fucking love a shark film even the B movie ones.

MintyGreenDreams · 08/08/2022 23:01

Bait is a good one and Deep Ble Sea

Nat6999 · 08/08/2022 23:03

Jaws frightened me to death, I was probably only 12 or 13 the first time I saw it, gave me nightmares for ages. I still can't walk through tunnels at aquariums with sharks in them.

EnjoyingTheSilence · 08/08/2022 23:07

Absolutely love Jaws. Hands down best film ever. Did any of you go and see the stage show about the making of Jaws? Robert Shaws son plays him. Brilliant.

Love Deep Blue Sea, Shallows and The Meg. I really want another good shark film, bad ones annoy me!

toeyroughskin · 08/08/2022 23:11

In the 70's they made a Jaws version of Buckaroo. I remember getting cornered in a friends back yard by a local boy who taunted me with the plastic shark

Benjaminsniddlegrass · 08/08/2022 23:11

I will raise you Sharknado and give you Sharks in Venice! One of my favourite scenes features a shark leaping from the canal in Venice to kill someone on the beach. Starring the poor man's Baldwin brother and it even features the Illuminati. Many other shark films are fun but none will beat this B movie beauty!
