Had to run away from him today slapping watermelons in Sainsburys. It’s too much. Holds it right up to his ear and gives them a good slap until he finds the right one.

literally married the white version of my dad.

He also very loudly shouted “DO I KNOW YOU?!” When I have him a little hug in the queue… I hate being in public with him 🥲

Count yourself lucky. Mine pees outside.

FrankTurner · 29/07/2022 17:45

Breathe 😆

whatthehelldowecare · 29/07/2022 17:47

Walks about with his jeans half way down his ass like a teenager despite being an otherwise respectable adult man

Bubblebubblebah · 29/07/2022 17:49

Don't tell me you just pick a watermelon and go😱 That would be an adrenaline sport to me.

I just can’t bring myself to stand there slapping it in full view of everyone 🤣

Ha I think he sounds like fun!

SBAM · 29/07/2022 18:04

He’s been known to sing and dance to the music in Asda. And DD now does it too.

SecretSnake · 29/07/2022 18:18

B&M is the best place for a sing and dance! They always have the best 80’s playlists on!

I agree with @easyday, he sounds like great fun!

FlippinOmicron · 29/07/2022 19:41

Wears the jeans that are 2 sizes too big for him and look ridiculous.
"But they're comfortable." he moans, when I object.

So are my fur lined Crocs but I don't wear them outdoors. 🙄

TBF he has lost 2 stone.

Winterfellismyhome · 29/07/2022 19:41

"Lad" talk with tradesmen. I dont know why but it makes me cringe 😬

Mine doesn't do anything embarrassing which DEFO means I am the embarrassing one!!

Libre2 · 29/07/2022 19:47

Changes his accent depending on who he is with. He’s relatively well spoken but suddenly with my dad (who he adores) he suddenly starts dropping h’s. My dad is very West Country.

TheCanyon · 29/07/2022 19:51

He was diagnosed with colitis and ibd last year after a VERY sudden and brutal first flare. He posted about it ALL on fb, every last detail. I was ill and literally couldn't walk at the time or I think I would've packed my bags and ran.

Same...

Singinginthesnow · 29/07/2022 20:03

@Libre2 😲I'm guilty of doing this too. Its quite subtle though. I didn't know I did it until dh pointed it out. I don't go full on but it's a very subtly mimic of the person I'm talking too. I don't know why I do it. And no one else has noticed... but after he pointed it out I caught myself doing it

RagingWoke · 29/07/2022 20:05

When he brushes his teeth he moves his head not the toothbrush. Unlikely anyone else would see it but I know he does it.

Wilkolampshade · 29/07/2022 20:09

@Singinginthesnow @Libre2 Don't feel too bad about the mimicking accent thing, it's a normal human response to find common ground and also a sign of musicality....

Oh no! I do this

SecretSnake · 29/07/2022 20:11

My husband is really really good at mimicking accents. Which he does ALL the time.

My OH tries this too, bless him.

He's a soft-handed senior professional who prefers cats and soft furnishings to anything even vaguely 'blokey', and knows absolutely nothing about DIY or renovation.

I'm much more knowledgeable (not to mention a damn sight harder in negotiations), so I tend to deal with anything like that, but if he's occasionally taken by surprise - he was WFH the other week when a tradesperson came round to do a quote for a new bathroom we're having fitted - he'll give it a go.

I actually think it's quite sweet when he tries to be 'a real boy'. 😁

Mine becomes whoever he's talking to 🤣
If he's in an Albanian shop he answers like them ,ditto in a taxi he talks like they do 🤣
I've booked us a weekend in Scotland so this is going to get embarrassing 😩I hope he doesn't buy a kilt 🤣

Fraaahnces · 29/07/2022 20:18

Mine loudly sucks each finger after a meal and makes nauseating “hmmmmpffff” sounds with each bite. 🤢
