I tend to have 1-2 drinks around 4 times a week at home. But I've been having 3 cocktails every night on holiday. The bars are so accessible and the drinks so lovely! Oh and I don't have to get up for work 😊. Anyone else??

Just reaching for my first g&t having reached Italy. I never drink solo at home but feels very much the right thing to do on this balmy evening.

NewJobOrOldJob · 23/07/2022 21:56

It's a yes from me! All rules out the window on holiday. Cheers!

FindingMeno · 23/07/2022 21:57

I don't, but I don't drink at all normally.
I might have a cocktail or two on a couple of evenings on holiday, but my tolerance is very low!

Workyticket · 23/07/2022 21:58

Absolutely - we're back in the room after night 3 on holiday

I've had 4 or 5 plus 1 by the pool

Dh has had beers throughout the day

I barely drink at home, dh would usually have a bottle of lager or 2 a night at home

PritiPatelsMaker · 23/07/2022 21:59

Took me about two weeks to dry out after the last holiday!

meatyryvita · 23/07/2022 21:59

It’s a holiday! Normal rules are out of the window. I enjoy a glass of wine in the afternoon, wine with dinner and a cocktail in the evening every night on holiday. At home, I have 4 dry days and 3 days where I have a glass of two!

Seashor · 23/07/2022 21:59

I don’t drink but I say enjoy it and have another one, two, three … good for you.

3luckystars · 23/07/2022 22:00

No I don’t have any but don’t care what anyone else does, do what makes you happy!

feeona123 · 23/07/2022 22:03

Yes on holiday….once/twice a week at home!!

jetadore · 23/07/2022 22:04

Yes. For the reasons you give and for the fact that as a family we’re spending unnaturally long periods of time in each other’s rage inducing company.

Mushroo · 23/07/2022 22:04

Definitely! A getting ready drink, wine with
dinner, cocktails, beers by the pool…

(At home I like a drink but I tend to limit it to the weekends only!)

TakemedowntoPotatoCity · 23/07/2022 22:04

I don't drink, but make an exception for cocktails on holiday 🍸

MsMiaWallace · 23/07/2022 22:06

Wondered this too. Even if away for 2 weeks?

UserError012345 · 23/07/2022 22:07

No I don't...I have mostly given up alcohol altogether. I have a rose today but only one

ShrillSiren22 · 23/07/2022 22:08

I very rarely drink at home, maybe a couple of glasses of wine every 6 weeks or so. On holiday I normally have at least 1 drink a day.

JaceLancs · 23/07/2022 22:10

Yes - although rarely during the day
tend to have a couple of drinks early evening on the balcony - something with dinner and then maybe a couple of cocktails before heading back to apartment

sunsetsandsandybeaches · 23/07/2022 22:10

No, but then I don't drink at home either.

I will drink occasionally on holiday but I honestly don't like the feeling of having more than one.

AbsoluteShambles · 23/07/2022 22:11

Unless I was quite unwell (even then I can sometimes manage wine 😂) or planning on taking a prescription sleeping pill, I would have a few drinks every day on holiday.

Hoppinggreen · 23/07/2022 22:11

No I don’t but I’m not much of a drinker.
I probably have 1 drink most days whereas at home I might have a drink 2 nights a week.
I don’t judge anyone else who does though, as long as it doesn’t ruin anyone else’s holiday

NotRainingToday · 23/07/2022 22:11

Yes, absolutely, I'm slightly surprised you even question it!

CactusFlowers · 23/07/2022 22:12

No, but I’m not a big drinker.

TigerDroveAgain · 23/07/2022 22:13

Everyday’s a holiday for me🙃

Stichintime · 23/07/2022 22:13

Yes. I have dry days at home, but not on holiday!

OneFrenchEgg · 23/07/2022 22:14

I drink about 4/7 nights at home (max 2 glasses wine) and on holiday tend to stick to this. I don't day drink unless it's a start to a long day (like a wedding) and that doesn't change on holiday.

GyozaGuiting · 23/07/2022 22:14

Generally yes, unless on an activity holiday! If I’m skiing/trekking/touring I tend not to. But otherwise there’s often lovely wine/cocktails and restaurants to enjoy, have a great time!
