I can't figure out if the outside space with the gravel and 2 deckchairs is on the public street. It looks like you'd get your garden furniture nicked. Unless that bit is the 3 parking spaces they mention, although it looks a bit small for 3 cars.

SavingsThreads · 23/07/2022 17:05

The house is gorgeous, except for the sofa and random red accents which are Envy.

But agree that price is mad. Though I don't think you can call central Brighton, 5 mins from the beach a 'not great' location. Surely it depends on lifestyle?

JustGotToKeepOnKeepingOn · 23/07/2022 17:16

That house was on George Clarke's TV programme the other night... it is a stunning house and has been renovated to the absolute highest standard.

I work right next to it. It's not a great place to live & it doesn't look that good in real life. There are no deck chairs when there are no TV cameras. It's also not finished, was made to look that way for the programme. Was always done to sell and the chap has always lived in Spain.

The furniture was just put in for the filming. Trust me it's an awful location.

TidyDancer · 23/07/2022 17:32

There are some good parts but generally I think it's really dark and a bit ugly.

FOJN · 23/07/2022 17:32

46 photos, no floor plan and no evidence of a decent sized fridge or where the washing machine might live. I quite like the aesthetic although some of the furniture is a bit off and for that price the kitchen is rubbish.

Bearsan · 23/07/2022 17:33

I love the bathroom tiles but we got very similar ones from somewhere like B&Q 😁
I like it but those staged outdoor patio cushions and throws annoy me with our weather.
The price though 😮

TrianglePlayer · 23/07/2022 17:35

If I was the agent I’d be embarrassed with my sales particulars. It looks very cold and dark and a bit shit.

There's no washing machine as there's no water

KimWexlersPonyTail · 23/07/2022 17:51

Its very dark and oppressive, that woodem ceiling seems so low. Also overlooked. Too much wood in what looks like the only bathroom. All really dreary. Imagine a dark, damp winters day in there.

Quitelikeit · 23/07/2022 17:54

Fgs most people don’t leave their deck chairs out all year round!!!!

regardless of posters saying the area is dreadful etc then I’m sure that’s reflected in the price

im wondering if some jealous neighbours are on this thread

Maybe you should just look the address up on Street View. No way I would live there & I know the area very very well.

Soubriquet · 23/07/2022 17:59

That is an absolutely gorgeous place. I don’t see a garden which would put me off tbh.

I think the only reason it’s so expensive too, is because it’s been on tv

Redglitter · 23/07/2022 18:00

I think its dark & depressing. I hate the arty photos of the taps & bedside table. Who cares? Let's see where the fridge goes or something relevant

Soubriquet · 23/07/2022 18:01

Also, it looks like one of those sort of places that would be difficult to keep clean with all that stone and rock

SavingsThreads · 23/07/2022 18:18

@luckylavender there's no water?!

TrashyPanda · 23/07/2022 18:24

We watched this last night.

hated the building, before and after. That ground floor “space” - what exactly would it be used for? Other than storing junk.

thought George was going to have an orgasm. He was so fawning over the owner. Definitely fancied him. Going on about the view. It’s of other houses! Just like from a semi in suburbia.

HelloAllll · 23/07/2022 18:25

Well thay street view makes it look.. Interesting.
I do not know the area but it certainly does not look like an area i would want to live in

Samcro · 23/07/2022 18:32

I know the area
even if you didn’t, in the program you see the street and the building next door that has an ugly fire escape. Not some where I imagine people paying that much

who would pay that much ?
Starseeking · 23/07/2022 18:37

46 photos yet no floorplan and costs £2.5m...ok then Confused

MissMatty2hats · 23/07/2022 18:37

@HelloAllll sorry I stole your line 😂

Puzzledandpissedoff · 23/07/2022 18:43

Why would anyone pay that much for a home where so many windows have a sightline RIGHT INTO the living room? Confused

TrianglePlayer · 23/07/2022 18:52

luckylavender · 23/07/2022 17:39

No water but five bathrooms?
