Lost an e mail when it was right in front of me. Help!

Going to a festival tomorrow . Searched out the e mail with the tickets on my phone . Found it. Tried to move it to my in box and now it’s gone .

I’ve searched for it again, every possible way. But cannot find it . I can find other tickets bought at the same time so I know my searches as working but this one BLOODY IMPORTANT e mail has vanished.

any ideas what I did ? ( posting in AIBU for traffic)

I’m rubbish with tech when it doesn’t work .

Have you got another device you can check on? Laptop/tablet etc. I know sometimes I can’t find emails on my phone but if I check on another device they appear. Good luck!

In the bin on the email app.
In junk on the email app.
Those are where I would look.
Search facility should find it in any folder but it depends on the email app.

Much further down your email list than you think. Try scrolling down to the approx date you received it.

Have you archived it?

Check what happens if you slide an email left and right (on an email you don't care about) to try to figure out where it might have gone.

With Yahoo, you can restore deleted emails - you need to fill out a form from their help page. It only takes a few hours.

Tried all of the above . Searched all the way down a long list of emails, tried the Mac, not in Archive.
I can find every other e mail with tickets attached since 2020 but not this one from 4 months ago.

I am honestly stumped. Thanks for replies tho’ .

Deleted folder?

can you get in touch with the seller and ask them to resend? The code should only work once so hopefully they should be able to send again ( if you can get hold of anyone)

Outlook . E mail provider . I think . My e mail ends in outlook.com

I’ve e mailed the festival using there get in touch e mail link ……. E mail bounced back as undeliverable .

I do have screen shots of the tickets as back up . Will they suffice ? Someone up thread said the codes can only be used once so perhaps I’m saved ? I thought they might think I’m trying to use screen shots fraudulently if I can’t produce the original e mail .

Outlook has a "focussed" inbox (emails it thinks are important) and an "other" inbox. Have you tried looking in the other one?

Have you tried searching your inbox for other terms e.g. the name of the festival, date, any other info rather than "tickets"?

I would imagine this will be ok - they'll be able to scan the barcode or similar from that

Im ashamed to say , that means nothing to me Fig. Im just using the mail inbox on my iPhone and Mac . Outlook web browser ? What does that mean ? Yes, I’m this thick with tech .

Definitely search on the web browser on a computer rather than just your phone.

You've probably moved it to a different folder by accident. Have you tried the search function for all mailboxes for a key word?

You can also do this in safari or chrome if you're on your phone, but better on a computer.

Tried all the terms under the sun . The receipts for payment and other tickets for workshops all come up but not entry tickets.
I really can’t believe it can be in front of me one minute and then gone the next !

ive clearly moved it somewhere without realising . I’ll look for this “other box” …. Never seen it before.

Yes, this is what I meant. Go to the outlook website on your web browser (Safari or whatever) and log in to your emails from there.

Can you see at the top it says focused and other.

Click on each one. They have different emails in each

Also, if you swipe right on it, it’s immediately deleted so double check your deleted folder

And you’re not thick! You just do something in one particular way cos it’s easy, quick and works 99.999% of the time. We all do 💐

Try the web browser thing first. If that doesn’t work this might have something you’ve not tried?

Try your junk folder but scroll right back to the date the tickets were issued. In fact you need to do this will all your mail boxes not just your inbox (or whichever you tried earlier).
