Would you go to a doggy disco and what would you expect.
Would you just like to meet other people with dogs?
Would you like to dance with your dog?
Can you tell me your thoughts, good or bad please?

You're going to have to explain why this would be fun, OP. We are clearly imagining something very different from what you're imagining!

Music does help distress dogs actually.

Yep, my dog would be incredibly distressed if I made him go to a doggy disco.

He would be much happier in the woods sniffing about, or swimming in the sea, or playing with his friends, or rolling in something disgusting.

SweetSakura · 17/07/2022 15:46

@girlfriend44 do you mean "de-stress" ?

Yes.

God no, sounds like a truly awful idea! My dog likes running about outside. He shows no reaction to music (either positive or negative) and he gets on ok with most dogs in an outside environment when there's plenty of space to back off.

Georgeskitchen · 17/07/2022 16:03

Just asked my dog.
He's up for it. He wants to know if you will be playing Hounds of Love 🤣🤣😍

TwoLeftSocksWithHoles · 17/07/2022 16:03

Not something I would want to go to, but if they introduce Cat Ice-skating I would be along like a shot.🐱⛸️

easyday · 17/07/2022 16:08

This would confuse my dog and one would get pretty stressed by it so nope not for us. Seems like a peculiar idea - do something dogs might actually enjoy.

fancyfrogs · 17/07/2022 16:13

Weird, don't really get it. No I don't think my dog would like to dance with me. He is sociable and likes people and dogs - but a big busy room with loud music I think he'd be a bit anxious

notprincehamlet · 17/07/2022 16:13

Dog dancing is a thing at Crufts. I've just been watching a video of a Chihuahua dancing Swan Lake - he looked quite cheery about it all.

Bananaman123 · 17/07/2022 16:15

if it was a dog pool party I’d go

CounsellorTroi · 17/07/2022 16:16

Tlollj · 17/07/2022 15:32

What music will you have?
Hound Dog? Leaning on a Lampost?
Who let the dogs out?

I'm a Retriever - Monkees

I'm sure Tchaikovsky would be thrilled for his music to be compared to disco music...

That dog is dancing not for pleasure, but because it’s his job.

When he wants to relax, when he’s off duty, he’ll be sniffing butts and rolling around or playing with toys.

He’s “dancing” (doing tricks timed to music) because he’s being asked to by his owner. It’s his paid employment, if you like.

Ylvamoon · 17/07/2022 16:23

OP confusion is a sing of dehydration.

ThinWomansBrain · 17/07/2022 16:24

maybe OP has sunstroke?

KangarooKenny · 17/07/2022 16:25

No. And my dog hates loud music.

alphapie · 17/07/2022 16:26

God no.

I'd go as far as saying anyone I knew who frequented a dog disco would be banished from my life.

What a weird and slightly sad idea

Sillystripytail · 17/07/2022 16:27

No. All dogs would hate it. Is this something you're considering arranging? Please save yourself the embarrassment and just don't.

ScarlettOHaraHamiltonKennedyButler · 17/07/2022 16:28

Oh god no. My dog doesn't mind music but when the DC and I start dancing he gets really wound up. Barking, doign zoomies around the living room, trying to jump into our arms (which at 5 stone is a nightmare) and humping legs.

He now goes into the garden with a nice chew treat when the DC want to dance around.

A dog disco? No thanks.

Fivecluckyhens · 17/07/2022 16:28

This just makes me think about the human pups scene!

Vates · 17/07/2022 16:29

I think that would honestly be my kind of disco! My poor Sister's dog has to listen to me whine about how beautiful she is and how I love her more than the majority of humans!

CMOTDibbler · 17/07/2022 16:32

Firstly, I'd be worried that I had misread it and it wasn't for my dogs... Then ddog2 would hate it, but ddog1 would love that sort of thing, be totally overexcited, and be a PITA. So no, I wouldn't go

Festivalpartygirl · 17/07/2022 16:32

Puppy party maybe for early socialisation, our local pet store used to do it for an hour on Sat mornings pre Covid. Dog disco is not something I’d take mine too.

Papergirl1968 · 17/07/2022 16:35

My Staffie cross would like to request Puppy Love by Donny Osmond so she can slow dance with her boyfriend, a Saluki who lives around the corner.

junglejane66 · 17/07/2022 16:35

Mine would jump up at everyone, but its ok, he's friendly
