Christmas presents in July

I know itโ€™s July ๐Ÿ˜‚, just wondering if anyone else has already bought Christmas presents? I found some really nice jumpers and other clothing in the sale (60% off), so I bought them and will keep for Christmas, mainly to spread the cost out a bit. My friend thinks Iโ€™m being very unreasonable, but is it that bad..? ๐ŸŽ„Just hoping Iโ€™ll remember by then where I hid them..

I couldnโ€™t possibly begin to think about buying Christmas presents yet! Iโ€™m so impressed with how organised you all are!

However I am excited that this year for the first time ever I opened a new savings account in January specifically for Christmas - we set up a standing order to put ยฃ100 a month straight in there on payday so itโ€™s already up to ยฃ600! I feel so proud of myself that when December rolls round this year the money for Christmas will be right there and I wonโ€™t end up putting the whole shebang on a credit card.

Well to be fair that's the same thing as buying presents in one way. You will have a lovely lump sum and can enjoy spending it without the dread of wondering are you going to be left short of cash by Christmas.

I've bought most of my daughters Christmas and birthday presents as her birthdays Christmas Eve. Have my sons presents in my basket ready to order on payday. Even booked two Christmas activities, I don't like not being organised and worrying about money.

@LaTangerina I didn't see the kitchen one. A friend bought the โ‚ฌ23 for her dds birthday and was very impressed with it for that price so sent me the link. She sent me photos of it in real life and it's gorgeous. I'm already all organised for back to school and I put myself on a spending ban for non essentials so feeling very proud of myself. Normally I'd be at the next sale buying the DC a ton of unnecessary clothes.

Not exactly. DS wants a Steam Deck though so I've reserved one. Hopefully there'll be stock by December or he'll be having a late present this year.

I never buy in July but I spread the cost as I have a Christmas and bday savings account that I save into every month. Itโ€™s much easier than trying to think what to buy for Christmas in the summer

What took you this long? Why not buy in the January sales? ๐Ÿ˜‚

MoodyTwo · 17/07/2022 20:45

I did this a few years ago, put them in a safe place ... found them the following April ๐Ÿ˜‚

@MoodyTwo oops! ๐Ÿ˜ณ๐Ÿคญ๐Ÿ˜‚ Did you end up keeping the gifts for the next Christmas? Or did you hand them out through the year for birthdays?
