To hope Johnson doesn't resign?

Because if he clings on until the next GE, he'll be completely unelectable and we'll be rid of the Tories.

I'm hoping he digs his heels in just like he always has, even though by rights he should be fucking off with his tail between his legs.

'Surely even the fangirls'

Must we carry on with misogynistic nonsense. I'm not a 'fan girl'. As I've said repeatedly I'll happily vote for Labour if they ever present anyone remotely credible.

Less credible than the worst 12 years of governance in living memory and at least two PM's who'll go down as among the very worst in history?

Poor Carrie, I bet she just got the house the way she wanted it and now she'll have to move. All that money on wallpaper!🤦‍♀️

To be fair, he'll probably earn much better money once he's no longer PM (that was his complaint in the beginning, that he had to give up all his extra sources of income like writing for the newspaper) so they'll be able to afford new wallpaper elsewhere.

SueSaid · 06/07/2022 16:49

'its sad, this could have been dignified.'

Oh don't be silly it isn't 'sad' at all. If he goes he goes, he has remained dignified at all times despite the constant pathetic goading from the msm and this juvenile attempt at grilling from the liaison committee.

So basically you just don’t respect any process of government?

good to know and explains a lot about your posts.

Grant Shapps just gone into no 10...

1922 cttee elections on monday - new cttee will change rules after the election (so tues/wed?)

I'm sure he'll be financially rewarded for his crooked dealings in government but what fool is going to pay him to speak on the speech circuit now? He's lost all credibility.

HannahSternDefoe · 06/07/2022 17:20

36 gone...

HannahSternDefoe · 06/07/2022 17:23

Decisionfatiguequeen · 06/07/2022 17:15

She's already gone hasn't she? (Allegedly)

has she moved out of the flat then?

Those celebrating are going to regret their posts on here. That much I do know. Do you think
the far right have just disappeared? Or the tens of millions of trusting leave voters? Genuinely I am very worried about what is coming next if this actually happens and the committee over ride their mandate and try to force another vote

What mandate? The election mandate was for the party, not Johnson. And that was for a party that has a procedure, as every major party must, for getting rid of a PM who has lost the confidence of the party. It would be ludicrous to say that, because a party has won an election, it must never change its leader.

LadyWhistledownsPen · 06/07/2022 17:28

If he goes I'm throwing a party to celebrate but he probably won't because he's a teflon marigold butt licker

Yes, and he’s also a terrible public speaker anyway.

Book deals and columns abound though.

Blossomtoes · 06/07/2022 17:28

Or the tens of millions of trusting leave voters?

There were 17,410,742 leave votes - not tens of millions.

Her diagnosis came a year after their divorce announcement but don't let that stop your inaccurate froth.

I thought that was Clav's line...

Shh you'll bring them out from under their rock! 😂

SleeplessInEngland · 06/07/2022 17:30

No way Johnson will bother staying an mp after this, so I guess an Uxbridge by-election’s incoming.

AmaryIlis · 06/07/2022 17:30

Provenceinthesummer · 06/07/2022 15:52

It can’t be salvaged if the rules are bent at will to remove an elected PM. It is game over.

.
What rules? If you mean the 1922 committee, that's an internal party organisation with no constitutonal status and it can change its rules when it wants to. When it is a position - which it must be by now - that over half the party is telling it that they have no confidence in the MP - then it would be grossly irresponsible of the committee to say that it would not allow a VONC.

And yet again, if you think we elect our PMs, you don't understand our constitution.

HannahSternDefoe · 06/07/2022 17:23

Twitter speculation she left him weeks ago 🤷‍♀️

HannahSternDefoe · 06/07/2022 17:32

You know it's going to be bad (for Boris) when there are ladders clattering in Downing Street, drowning out Beth.

Liz Truss is on a plane back from Indonesia. Wouldn't it be funny if she had no internet connection on that plane. What a shitshow she's coming back to. It's not due in till 9pm tonight.

DeeCeeCherry · 06/07/2022 17:37

Schadenfreude will keep the Tories around for a long time to come.
Never underestimate the sheer will of those who get off on seeing mass- misery.

Or the idleness of people who dont bother to vote but write long diatribes on FB social media about their disbelief at Tories still being in power

Blossomtoes · 06/07/2022 17:41

Bloody hell, they’ve wheeled Fabricant out on PM now. “Mid term blues”! 😂

AmaryIlis · 06/07/2022 17:45

Provenceinthesummer · 06/07/2022 16:00

What a stupid post - science and education etc has not been demonised! Jeez is there nothing you won’t sink to.

Yes, they have. Brexit has been a serious bodyblow in terms of opportunities for our scientists, funding, sharing research, markets for the products of our scientific research.

And as for education, where do we start. Giving lucrative academy and free school contracts to government donors and friends? Focus on stupid issues like uniforms rather than learning? Appointing Gavin Williamson as Minister of State, despite his total and utter uselessness? And even they admit in their Green Paper that the SEND system has become a disaster area.

Labour have no idea what a woman even is!

Not even you believe that.

Do tell us what the Conservatives have done for the feminist cause in the last 12 years?

jgw1 · 06/07/2022 17:54

@Provenceinthesummer I'll play.
What is a woman?

AmaryIlis · 06/07/2022 18:00

Provenceinthesummer · 06/07/2022 16:14

That is pure slander unless you were the one delivering said blow jobs.

how disgusting

Nothing written on here is slander.

If you mean libel, an essential ingredient of any claim is proof that the allegation in question would lower the claimant in the minds of right-thinking men and women. If your reputation is already rock-bottom, therefore, you will lose.

Something tells me that Johnson isn't going to try any libel claims.
