I am by no means a Tory and am not particulary a fan of Sajid either but not only does it smell of rats leaving a sinking ship butt also who on earth is left to take that brief?

Anyone with half a brain cell (so Nadine could still be in with a shout) won't take it so they have more credibility for when Boris finally goes and they hopefully get suggestions with at least decency and a moral compass

I’m hoping it’s the beginning of the end and this is where the tories get voted out

Voted out in what way?

kieronsmum · 05/07/2022 18:16

on another thread it said Rishi s has gone too A leadership race coming soon maybe

SnowyLamb · 05/07/2022 18:17

Blimey, that's a big one.

Replacement will be very interesting. We'll learn a bit about conscience, it's one thing not resigning, but to accept a post offered by this PM in current circumstances?

And if you can't fill your Cabinet can you stay as PM?

Matchingcollarandcuffs · 05/07/2022 18:18

And now Rishi too . . .

OhmygodDont · 05/07/2022 18:18

I’ve read Rishi is gone as well but haven’t seen proof yet. Not good for them.

Are you sure that wasn't a case of mistaken identity/casual racism? I can't find anything and that would surely be big news?

Dobbysgotthesocks · 05/07/2022 18:19

The rats are fleeing the sinking ship.

riesenrad · 05/07/2022 18:19

I also thought Nadine might be next health secretary!

But with Sunak resigning too, could be another election. Good news in some ways, but I don't really want Nicola S getting her "mandate for independence" via a referendum. Mixed feelings.

riesenrad · 05/07/2022 18:19

Via a General Election, not a referendum!

Both announced as breaking news

ThickCutSteakChips · 05/07/2022 18:20

This must be co-ordinated surely - who's next? Come on the Trussmeister!

This has to be the end of Boris?

Costacoffeeplease · 05/07/2022 18:20

Yes Sunak has gone too, no racism to be seen 🙄

On the BBC website. www.bbc.co.uk/news/live/uk-politics-62048657

SnowyLamb · 05/07/2022 18:21

No, it's true. The Independant has the Sunak resignation as breaking news.

Then there must surely be a leadership contest by morning?

ChiselandBits · 05/07/2022 18:21

yes they have both gone. Their letters of resignation are on the BBC website

AnneShirleysNewDress · 05/07/2022 18:22

The house of cards begins to fall. The question is will it take out Boris?

Andifin · 05/07/2022 18:22

At last some Tories showing a tiny bit of moral compass.

Oblomov22 · 05/07/2022 18:25

Wow.

Nah, self interest and self preservation only. Hopefully will still do the trick!

Blossomtoes · 05/07/2022 18:28

Beginning of the end. Thank Christ.

SirChenjins · 05/07/2022 18:28

Sunsk and Jarvis both gone - breaking news on the BBC

Surely to god this is the end for our clown of a PM 🙏🏻

Yorkshirelass04 · 05/07/2022 18:28

It's the people you don't really want resigning that are going!

SirChenjins · 05/07/2022 18:28

Sunak and Javid

I suspect this is part of a plan to bring Johnson down
