I am by no means a Tory and am not particulary a fan of Sajid either but not only does it smell of rats leaving a sinking ship butt also who on earth is left to take that brief?

Anyone with half a brain cell (so Nadine could still be in with a shout) won't take it so they have more credibility for when Boris finally goes and they hopefully get suggestions with at least decency and a moral compass

At last some Tories showing a tiny bit of moral compass.

If only.

A moral compass would have seen action 6 months ago at least. This is a rats and a sinking ship situation.

I suspect this is part of a plan to bring Johnson down

No shit!

LibrariesGiveUsPower · 05/07/2022 18:30

Will this actually oust Boris though?

ilovesooty · 05/07/2022 18:31

About time too.

the80sweregreat · 05/07/2022 18:31

Gosh , that's a surprise

StoneofDestiny · 05/07/2022 18:32

They are heading for the lifeboats. I wish they had stronger moral principles and gone before this - the lies have been constant and they have supported Johnson too long.

If not directly then certainly indirectly - he can’t continue to function (function used v loosely) without half-intelligent people behind him.

Narwhalelife · 05/07/2022 18:34

This has cheered me up no end, Boris’s fall from grace is over due and welcomed if you ask me.

He is a grotesque human.

StoneofDestiny · 05/07/2022 18:34

Let's not forget that the Tory Party have supported Johnson's every move and every lie - only too happy to turn up on TV to demonstrate that support. The whole party is contaminated - now the rats are fleeing for their political future, not for the public good!

StoneofDestiny · 05/07/2022 18:35

Next Tory leader? Peppa Pig?

TimBoothseyes · 05/07/2022 18:37

SnowyLamb · 05/07/2022 18:18

Are you sure that wasn't a case of mistaken identity/casual racism? I can't find anything and that would surely be big news?

This ... plus positioning themselves to take over if Boris goes

It's hard to see how he won't go now, but nothing surprises me any more

StoneofDestiny · 05/07/2022 18:35

She has a higher moral code and IQ, so no. Would have to be someone like Patrick Star or Stimpy.

SpinningForTheWorld · 05/07/2022 18:42

Penney Mordaunt will agree to do any Cabinet job and she's bloody dangerous.

That's the risk now - that Johnson will cling on and promote liars and fellow lunatics around him.

the80sweregreat · 05/07/2022 18:42

Gove will go for the top job I bet

SpinningForTheWorld · 05/07/2022 18:43

Johnson also saying he's 'fed up' of people speaking for him and getting it wrong. (I think he means getting the lies wrong, but hey ho.)

So that's Therese Coffey put in her place.

Surely he’s running out of liars and lunatics?

AmaryIlis · 05/07/2022 18:51

Apparently there's a lot of pressure to allow another Vote of No Confidence. If Johnson can no longer rely on people he's given jobs to - and both Javid and Sunak will have supporters who will follow their lead - he could be in real trouble.

the80sweregreat · 05/07/2022 18:52

His mates are still fond of him though it seems..
Who will be the new chancellor?

Puzzledandpissedoff · 05/07/2022 18:54

Oh I don't know ... with 340 MPs I'm sure the party can dredge up a few more if they really put their minds to it

Tirednurse1 · 05/07/2022 18:57

Each Tory health secretary gets more delusional and dangerous than the last. Good riddance.

Its a shame this won’t be the fall of the Tory government.

Nothappyatwork · 05/07/2022 18:58

Really ?

Thehawki · 05/07/2022 19:01

I’m so surprised THIS is what has brought him down. He’s done so many other things far worse than this. I can’t help but have my conspiracy theory brain going , thinking they must know more than they’re letting on 🙈 I’m guessing Johnson will be out soon. But I honestly wouldn’t be surprised if he holds on until the bitter, stupid end.

the80sweregreat · 05/07/2022 19:04

Maybe these two didn't want to do the media rounds anymore trying to defend the indefensible? They watched Dominic Raab and Theresa Covey being torn to shreds on tv and thought ' nah , not this time ' !
Gaslighting the people, not playing anymore.

the80sweregreat · 05/07/2022 19:06
