To be pleased that Steve Wright is leaving the Radio 2 afternoon show?

I have felt for a long time that Steve Wright has gone past his sell by date and was so pleased to hear that his show is finishing at long last. His Friday afternoon show of ‘jockin’ with no G is beyond tedious.

I heard that Serious Jockin(no g) is staying on 6 music.

But yes, he does sound a bit dated doesn't he?

He is very dated. I always switch him off as he’s so cringy and says literally the same thing every day at the same time.

No you most def are not BU !! Me and DH been saying for decades he needs to go, been a script DJ ing for ever. Thank the lord!!

YANBU but his replacement Scott Mills has the personality of a slug.

I'm quite a routine person and honestly find the change in radio presenters a sad end of an era but understand it has to happen. I love Scott Mills though.

Anyway, I too thought Steve Wright was much older than 67.

Worse bit is though....the most annoying Sara Cox with the stupid put on voices gets an extra hour from 4pm

I listen to zoe ball in the morning, only listen to ken Bruce for pop master, always tune in for Jeremy vine, but switch off as soon as Steve Wright comes on. So, so repetitive and tedious. I think it is the right move although think they could've found someone with more personality.

I find him very dated.

Any thing is better than him.

I quite like Steve Wright, he's better than Ken Bruce and his 1970s humour

I used to love his Radio 1 afternoon show in the 80s, I'd come home from school and put radio on straightaway.

But he was so dated and cringey on Radio 2. The way he sang over the end of songs...

I can't understand the Scott Mills hate though. I really enjoy his shows. He should have had the R1 breakfast show after Chris Moyles.
