Because how else can you explain the level of detachment from reality this man presents?

According to The Times “Boris Johnson planned to build a £150,000 treehouse in the grounds of Chequers but was forced to abandon the idea after the police raised security concerns.”

YABU. He's just a selfish, entitled twat.

GetThatHelmetOn · 25/06/2022 08:11

I think he is fantastic, by the time he is dragged out of office, the Tories might be a minority party.

StoneofDestiny · 25/06/2022 08:15

No - that's giving him an excuse. He is just a lying, cowardly criminal who uses public money to pander to his own vanity and to line the pockets of his friends and himself.
We need to remember the problem is not just him - as he is being supported by the majority of Tory MP's. Change the leader and we will still have a government of people who believe Johnson is the best they have and that he is what this country deserves! Scary.

SpinningTheSeedsOfLove · 25/06/2022 08:15

He’s certainly very odd.

SafeMove · 25/06/2022 08:16

He is from the planet of Eton bred self confidence, narcissism and misogyny IMO. Fair few about.

TheGoodburger · 25/06/2022 08:17

Not from another planet, these people walk among us daily. Selfish self-centred twats.

Lovemypeaceandquiet · 25/06/2022 08:17

Obviously, some people will come at me saying that he can do whatever he wishes with his money. But he’s not an owner of a successful start up, he didn’t invent a cancer cure.

He’s a politician, and the money he’s getting is public. He is suppose to advocate for the citizens of his country. How can he do that effectively when he’s planning a £150000 tree house for his son?

No, he represents the very worst of humanity: shallow, mendacious and conniving.

balalake · 25/06/2022 08:21

That is very unfair to any other planet, be it in this solar system or elsewhere.

Mr Johnson has a record of not considering detail, and that includes on security matters. His mobile phone number did not change for a long time from when he was at The Spectator and therefore a matter of public record from a press release.

AutumnSquill · 25/06/2022 08:24

I think he should be sent to another planet, on a one way trip. I'd happily contribute to a crowdfunder for that.

Yes!

I've found a place for him, the asteroid Narcissus: there is an extremely wide berth between this asteroid and Earth at all times.

😂

maybe there he can make his £150000 tree house dream come true?

I'm just watching him now on Sky news saying people are sick of hearing about things going on in Downing Street, they want to hear about us getting on with the job.

He simply doesn't understand that people are hearing about those things, because he's doing them!!!! Never has anybody been so wholly unsuitable for office!

GreenLunchBox · 25/06/2022 09:09

Jeez, he's obviously planning on being in government for a very long time! Lucky us Grin

Reallybadidea · 25/06/2022 09:11

He's a deeply corrupt, individual who is only out for himself, leading a party with the same characteristics. But for some reason people see him as a lovable buffoon and keep voting him in.

Bit unfair, I mean what have the Martians done to deserve that?

AutumnSquill · 25/06/2022 09:15

Surely the best way for the government to "get on with the job" without the endless distractions about the ridiculous and corrupt things Johnson has done, and no doubt continues to do, would be to get rid of Johnson?

Remainiac · 25/06/2022 09:16

SpinningTheSeedsOfLove · 25/06/2022 08:15

He’s certainly very odd.

I agree with this. Odd is always the word that springs first to my mind in relation to Boris. His narcissism and mendacity seem to be rooted in a fundamental oddness which is unsettling.

JesusInTheCabbageVan · 25/06/2022 09:21

He is suppose to advocate for the citizens of his country. How can he do that effectively when he’s planning a £150000 tree house for his son?

Another perspective. The more time he spends titting around up a tree, the less time he can devote to dismantling the UK.

Plus he might fall out.

Mrsjayy · 25/06/2022 09:27

I remember when his dad was on I'm a celebrity and Georgia toffolo ( from made in Chelsea) had to inform Stanley that not everyone went to private school, so I imagine Boris Johnstone inability to relate to anything is generational and bred into him.

DaisyDozyDee · 25/06/2022 10:09

A £150,000 treehouse must be almost as big as the arrogance it would take to build it in a work property you live in part time, especially when you’ve just barely avoided getting sacked. I wouldn’t bet on him still being there when construction was completed. He really thinks he’s staying forever doesn’t he?

GreenLunchBox · 25/06/2022 10:25

Etonian hubris has ruined this country

balalake · 25/06/2022 10:25

His behaviour is similar to that of functioning alcoholics that I have known. Except they lied a lot less.
