Can anyone tell what the word before "Northern Ireland" says on this birth certificate?

Additionally, does anyone know how to find out your mother's maiden name if you do not know what it is?

Can you find a transcript of the birth certificate?
To find your Grandmother's maiden name you could look for her marriage certificate. This would give you her father's name, date of birth etc.

Definitely Newry, it's in Co Down I think.

Not sure about Northern Ireland but in England and Wales from about 1911 on, the mother’s maiden name is usually on the GRO index of births so you might be able to get it from there without needing the actual birth certificate.

@Eyesopenwideawake There is an estrangement issue so not possible by the more direct route. This post is for someone else (DP) and they're struggling to work out how to find these things out. It's not actually my family.
