The show 'Escorts' on Netflix is eye opening

£500 for an hour
£500 for one of the escorts to go to a pub lunch with a client, no intercourse involved.
2 young women in their 20s, who can make 6 grand a week.
I would never do it, but when you work full time hours and they make in 1 week what I make in 3 months. Or what some people would make in 6.
Still, they claim to love it on the show but who knows what it's really like. They may get taken advantage of a lot.

Has anybody watched the show? Or know anybody that's done this?

I'm in the wrong job LOL. #joking sort of

Francais223 · 21/06/2022 21:53

Haha 😂

My question is, what kind of man pays a woman £500 an HOUR just for their company FFS? Not even a fuck included? He could just meet someone off a dating site, and pay fuck-all. Maybe just a couple of quid for a coffee in Costa.

Francais223 · 21/06/2022 21:56

Very true.. I don't understand it.
Possibly think it makes them look powerful and they just like to show off that they have that much cash

They pay the money for a woman to pretend they are into them, not just spend time together. They are paying for the ego boost of an attractive woman acting like they actually like them. There is no guarantee of that on a dating app.

BalloonsAndWhistles · 21/06/2022 21:57

Ooh, going to have to watch that. But yeah, it’s definitely strange.

WinterDeWinter · 21/06/2022 22:00

It's propaganda for the patriarchy.

Francais223 · 21/06/2022 22:01

That's a good point really.
One's being paid 2 grand for a 'sleepover'.
What's sad is that the 2 women said they have tons of married or engaged men.

At the same time it isn't surprising

If it’s the one I’m thinking of (2 young lasses, one blonde quite curvy? The other dark hair and massive boobs), one of them was more into the “dating experience” side of it, usually older men wanting company for events and dinners etc, who didn’t actually sleep with the majority of her clients, who seemed to have her head screwed on.
And the other who used to do porn (or was still doing it?), mostly did in-calls from the flat they shared, talked about some really horrible clients and seemed genuinely unhappy underneath the “work face” she puts on.
I found it quite a difficult watch.

Jumpjumpjumper · 21/06/2022 22:04

Where do I sign up, and do they mind an overweight, tired 42 year old?

Is it British or American?

Francais223 · 21/06/2022 22:09

British!

Men don't pay £500 an hour to sit in restaurants with women.

It's a fairly grim documentary, quite prurient in parts, clichéd happy hooker in others, and despite a lot of chat about how great the money is as I understand it both women now have other jobs.

colouringindoors · 21/06/2022 22:21

£500 an hour and no sex?

No way.

It's propaganda for the patriarchy.

This.

DorothyZbornakIsAQueen · 21/06/2022 22:24

It's absolute bollocks sorry. I don't believe it for a minute.

The 'I'm in the wrong job lol' jokes are pathetic.

The greatest trick the patriarchy ever played, was making women think that selling themselves, is empowering.

MissStarry · 21/06/2022 22:26

£500 for a pub lunch seems… optimistic 😆😆😆

I have some experience in this area and have known some men who see a lot of escorts and aside from a very highly clueless naive guy paying £500 for THAT, it seems very unlikely!

Vikinga · 21/06/2022 22:30

Some girls I knew used to get paid quite well to be nice to Japanese men in clubs. It turned my stomach the thought of that.

DaphneeBridgerton · 21/06/2022 22:32

Ummmmm I’ve done this an can confirm they absolutely do pay - no sex included

Vampirethriller · 21/06/2022 22:36

I was forced into it, by an ex. That and brothels and adultwork.
If you want to know what it's really like, read reviews on UK punting. Not the positives, where the woman was being good and doing what she was told and gets a glowing review- the negatives, where she was tired or didn't look right or suck it right or talk right or was clearly forced to be there and hated it. That's what it's like.
Don't believe men who tell you the women love to be with them, love their job, etc.
I never met a woman who loved her job and I met well over a thousand, women who were addicts, women sold by their family to traffickers, women in huge debt, women who's boyfriends made them do it, women who were desperate and couldn't see any other way.
I can't watch things like that, because it really is propaganda.

Henerlo · 21/06/2022 22:41

I mean you can literally hear them having sex off camera but yeah the world is full of women putting themselves through law school and buying big mansions by having lunch with men and otherwise empowering themselves. And sure don't we all like sex anyway? It's better than working in McDonald's because everyone's like Belle de Jour and you get to talk to BBC documentary makers while wearing only a bra.

Dullardmullard · 21/06/2022 22:42

I’ve seen this before and both are having sex with men and not the £500 lunch and no sex bollocks
