I am coming up to 30 and really worried about this

Not 30!

whenwillthemadnessend · 08/06/2022 21:52

For me prob early 40s. Now 51 and I meno and things really gone bad but I guess that's the way of things

MolliciousIntent · 08/06/2022 21:52

I'm definitely less attractive now at 29 than I was at 19. I think women tend to peak early 20s. Also whether or not you have kids definitely makes a difference.

warofthemonstertrucks · 08/06/2022 21:52

I looked my best between 30 and 41-ive noticed a huge decline in the last year. That said the last year has been incredibly stressful for me so that probably hasn't helped.

GoldPig · 08/06/2022 21:53

You lose a fresh glow in your 20s but gain some character in your 40s

thenightsky · 08/06/2022 21:54

Honestly? For me about 55 - 60

CaptainTroy · 08/06/2022 21:54

I would work on making sure looks aren’t the thing that defines you then it doesn’t matter so much.

Ilikecheeseontoast · 08/06/2022 21:55

For me it was when I had my 3rd child! I barely recognise myself in the mirror these days! Am 39

They don’t fade, they change.

George Clooney is 61, I’d not describe him as “faded.”

ArseInTheCoOpWindow · 08/06/2022 21:55

I’m 58 and still stunning😂

underneathleaf · 08/06/2022 21:56

You definitely start to age more noticeably by around your mid 30s. Suddenly all my friends look old! And so I guess I do too. I think for much of your 20s most people could get away with saying they were 19 and no one would question it too much. Definitely not the case now.

DuesToTheDirt · 08/06/2022 21:58

I'd say early 50's. Till then I gradually looked older, but still OK in my view. Now (mid-50s) I look proper old.

MrsBungle · 08/06/2022 21:59

I’ve noticed a big decline in the last couple of years. I’m 44.

LostAndLonely2022 · 08/06/2022 22:01

Depends on your lifestyle. If you smoke and drink heavily and don't use sunscreen you'll lose your looks at a younger age.

Zoooooom · 08/06/2022 22:02

I find the whole concept of looks 'fading' really sad to be honest.
They don't fade at all, if you look after them.
It is definitely better than the alternative, which is often mentioned on here. That said, it doesn't mean we aren't allowed to worry about our looks.

Look how many 'older' famous women out there who are over 40 and still very attractive. Yes they've had treatments and work done in many cases, but so what.

Cindy Crawford at 55 is absolutely beautiful still. She looks older, but she's still beautiful in a different way.

Honestly don't worry about this. As long as you look after yourself as much as possible, you're going to be fine. If it makes you feel better, there are so many cosmetic treatments out there. But at 30, you've got a long way off yet.

WingingItSince1973 · 08/06/2022 22:02

I'm just 49 and keep getting a shock when I see myself in pics or videos. Despite having a good skin routine, don't smoke or drink and eat healthy. I think it's coming to terms with the aging process and accepting beauty at all stages of life. X

ItDoesMyHeadIn · 08/06/2022 22:03

I've had over 30 people heavily compliment me more in the last 12 months than the last 15 years purely because of losing two stone and living a more active life. I look better now (37) than I did as a fat 29 year old. So it's not just about age but how much you take care of yourself. Look at Jennifer Lopez?

Disclaimer - I am absolutely not in the same league as Jennifer Lopez!

QueenAstrid · 08/06/2022 22:03

I’m 46 and I’m happier with how I look than I was in my 20’s and 30’s.

Agree with all this!

tunainatin · 08/06/2022 22:05

Interesting the comment about losing your glow in your 20s but gaining character if your 40s. I felt I went a bit meh in my late 20s to mid 30s, late 30s and early 40s may face went slimmer and I looked a bit better. Now things are staring to droop though (age 44)

StarDolphins · 08/06/2022 22:05

I think it’s a lot to do with genes Ime, I know people late 30’s that look very young & fresh & people late 20’s that don’t!…

But….it’s not something that bothers me, I was hot & young🤪 at some point & now I’m not! I’m not bothered, I’m just happy to be here still!

justasking111 · 08/06/2022 22:06

Depending on genetics I think. My mum looks young I've inherited that. My DIL looks young as does her mum. Stay out of sun says Joan Collins big hats, sunglasses and sunscreen

5128gap · 08/06/2022 22:06

Mine have faded in and out. Lovely at 19 then again in late 20s/early 30s. Now 53 and probably at my personal best.
Nothing to do with my age. Everything to do with being slim, and having the time and cash to have nice hair, clothes and skin, get plenty of rest, excercise and sleep, and no stress.

justasking111 · 08/06/2022 22:06

I do wonder if HRT helps
