I’m plus size. Size 22 so the dress is from Simply Be.

He’s getting married in the autumn.

Does the dress look ok for a wedding?

Gorgeous! Love it.

XmasElf10 · 28/05/2022 18:36

Yes, beautiful

Antarcticant · 28/05/2022 18:36

It's a lovely dress and perfect for a wedding. Don't see an issue at all with long sleeves. I have awful upper arms so always go for long sleeves or a bolero.

orwellwasright · 28/05/2022 18:37

It's absolutely gorgeous. I'm going to a wedding this autumn so thanks for the inspo!

Shoxfordian · 28/05/2022 18:37

I don’t think it’s that formal for a wedding, maybe something like this?

If there is a rule about long sleeves at weddings I have missed it but that looks like a lovely dress for an autumn wedding.

AtLeastPretendToCare · 28/05/2022 18:37

Nice dress. Perfectly suitable for a wedding.

LoveLarry · 28/05/2022 18:38

What have sleeves got to do with anything

YABU for that alone

MarmiteCoriander · 28/05/2022 18:38

Is their wedding very casual? The long sleeves isn't he issue, but to me its looks unstructured and loose. The broderie anglise is summery, but it just looks very informal. Good colour for autumn though and I only wear a V neck due to large boobs. Can you unbutton the wrist and roll the sleeve up if you do get hot? I might look different one and if you are happy and feel comfortable, go for it.

Gorgeous dress, I really like it. Definitely for a wedding

Aprilx · 28/05/2022 18:39

I love the colour, the style may be a bit too casual for some weddings. I don’t really understand the question about long sleeves though, there is no long / short sleeve etiquette for weddings that I am aware of.

CuriousCatfish · 28/05/2022 18:39

It's gorgeous and a lovely colour for an Autumn wedding.

luckylavender · 28/05/2022 18:40

Lovely

AllThatFancyPaintsAsFair · 28/05/2022 18:40

When did no long sleeves at wedding become a rule? What do guests do at winter weddings?

I don't go to many weddings but never heard of that rule, does it apply to brides too?

I wondered the same!

Giveitall · 28/05/2022 18:44

It’s lovely. I like the fact the neck is open/V shape to elongate the neck.
High necks on busty women make them look even more ample.
Id wear this tights for a polished look, with a neutral shoe & toning fascinator if u like them? Take a pashmina if it’s a cook Autumn day.
Lots of gold jewellery & away you go.
You’ll look fab.

RandomQuest · 28/05/2022 18:45

I wear long sleeves to wedding all the time. Saves worrying about a jacket, cover up etc if it’s not hot! I think it’s a lovely dress, the only thing is you might want to rethink if the wedding is likely to be v formal, but if not then it’s perfect.

thevanilla · 28/05/2022 18:46

Since when are long sleeves at a wedding frowned upon?

Pinkcadillac · 28/05/2022 18:47

I like it.

thefirstmrsrochester · 28/05/2022 18:47

Its a beautiful dress, gorgeous colour for an autumn wedding, I bet you will look amazing in it. If there is a rule about no sleeves at a wedding, I’ve broken it for every single wedding I have attended.

thefirstmrsrochester · 28/05/2022 18:49

Your only unreasonableness is not to tell us where it is from.

bloodyunicorns · 28/05/2022 18:49

Yes, really pretty and lovely colour.

WeAllHaveWings · 28/05/2022 18:50

Lovely dress, perfect for a wedding.

SenoraAveiro · 28/05/2022 18:51

I don't know what the length of sleeves has to do with anything, but I think it's a bit...inelegant for a wedding. It's more of a day dress, it'll wrinkly really easily, I just don't see it being formal enough.

I'd maybe wear that dress to work.

ofwarren · 28/05/2022 18:52

I only ever wear dresses with long sleeves.
It's lovely OP.
