I’m plus size. Size 22 so the dress is from Simply Be.

He’s getting married in the autumn.

Does the dress look ok for a wedding?

@Carpedimum

My hair is natural blonde with highlights and I’m pale with freckles and blue eyes.

Lovely @Clementinetree - I’d go with gold/beige then. How about these? Ruby Shoo Tatum Louis & bag

Gonnabegrandma · 28/05/2022 23:21

It’s a lovely dress you will look wonderful at your brothers wedding . Go for it and enjoy the day

Clementinetree · 28/05/2022 23:22

@Carpedimum yes they’re nice.
I quite like the forest green idea you mentioned or would that not work with my skin tone.

Beautiful dress OP. I'm glad you've gone with that one and not the other one linked earlier which is a completely different vibe. I also love the Ruby Shoo shoes linked above.

Carpedimum · 28/05/2022 23:31

Yes it would! Those are nice @Clementinetree as are these, bringing in the purple? Green Shoes & bag
Also easy to get earrings to match like these: Earrings and a lovely corsage using green foliage & purple/cream flower.

Agree that the dress Shoxfordian linked is just the worst. Dress in the OP very nice and definitely dressy enough for a wedding.

I agree, the second link is hideous!

Perfectly suitable for a wedding especially with silver jewellery.

I think it's lovely.

I'd posh it up with gold jewellery, and probably some gold flats. I don't do heels well at all though.

AxolotlEars · 29/05/2022 00:07

It's beautiful

AllLopsided · 29/05/2022 00:09

It's a gorgeous colour and great for an autumn wedding with the right accessories.

Orangeglobes · 29/05/2022 00:09

Lovely dress especially for autumn wedding, go for it and enjoy the day

Polyanne · 29/05/2022 00:11

What’s wrong with long sleeves? I never wear short sleeves because my upper arms aren’t 20-something any more!

worriedatthistime · 29/05/2022 00:15

Nice and easy enough to dress up for a wedding and could dress down for use as a more casual dress at other times
I prefer dresses like that as you get much more use out if them

upnorthsomewhere · 29/05/2022 00:28

Sure it's fabulous

worriedaboutmoney2022 · 29/05/2022 00:37

I love that colour but I don't like the split at the front of the dress personally - that would put me off and it looks like it's not lined and very thin flimsy fabric but the colour is gorgeous

Love this OP. 😍 Could you give me the link please

ThinWomansBrain · 29/05/2022 00:51

it's a nice dress - and as PPs have suggested, altough not overly dressy, can be dressed up with accessories, - and still be easily wearable after the wedding.
Agree that the second link isn't great - if you're getting long sleeves because you don't feel comfortable with your arms uncovered, there's probably not a lot of point buying a dress with long tight sleeves.

EcafTnuc · 28/05/2022 19:20

Me too. The sleeves were particularly nasty.

Agree. Definitely prefer the first dress.

balalake · 29/05/2022 10:04

Like the dress. Hate the shoes and hate overdone make-up, but that is the model in the photo not you.

WishILivedInThrushGreen · 29/05/2022 12:55

It's lovely OP and the shoes would go really well too.
