Another parking one

House on the market, owners still living there, viewers turn up and park in the drive. The street is busy but plenty of on-street parking available.

AIBU to think this is cheeky as fuck?!

Why? They're visiting that particular house. Not parking there and going elsewhere.

Honaloulou · 28/05/2022 10:49

Seems perfectly normal to me! They're visiting the house, so they park there.

GladAllOver · 28/05/2022 10:49

Eh?

Vsirbdo · 28/05/2022 10:49

I don’t see the issue

MadAngryCry · 28/05/2022 10:49

YABU - I can't see why this is a problem.

CuriousCatfish · 28/05/2022 10:50

Sounds fine to me.

IncompleteSenten · 28/05/2022 10:50

Whose drive?

If they're parking on your drive then yanbu, if they are parking on the drive of the house they're coming to view then of course yabu

MermaidEyes · 28/05/2022 10:51

Are you a bit territorial about your driveway or something?

Thehop · 28/05/2022 10:51

I wouldn’t do it, it’s not my drive to park in, but I don’t think I’d be cross off viewers did.

Plumbear2 · 28/05/2022 10:51

Are they parking on your drive or their drive? Is it's yours ask them to move, if it's their drive then it shouldn't bother you.

FuzzyPuffling · 28/05/2022 10:51

Completely normal and expected. What's the issue?

coffeecupsandfairylights · 28/05/2022 10:52

Eh? Why on earth is that cheeky? Isn't that what driveways are for? lol.

Boiledbeetle · 28/05/2022 10:52

They've done nothing wrong. Think of it as equivalent to them flushing the toilet to see if it works. They are just checking out all aspects of the property they may be buying. At last this way they know their car fits on the drive

DisforDarkChocolate · 28/05/2022 10:52

It seems absolutely normal to me. Also, a good way to see how easy it is to drive onto the road from.

TidyDancer · 28/05/2022 10:52

I think this is fine as long as it's the house they are viewing whose drive they've parked on. Maybe not if they've blocked someone in though.

FiveShelties · 28/05/2022 10:53

Isn't that what drives are for, parking on?

ThreeLittleDots · 28/05/2022 10:53

They are visitors. The vendor would want to be welcoming, no?

If the vendor was going out and someone else doing the viewing, the vendor should have moved their car kit of the drive in order to be accommodating.

Vendor won't get far with that attitude!

Lizziekisss · 28/05/2022 10:53

If they are parking on the drive of the house they are visiting that seems reasonable to me.

bumblefeline · 28/05/2022 10:54

Nope most people who came and viewed our house parked on the drive.

Unexpecteddrivinginstructor · 28/05/2022 10:55

Maybe they want to see how easy it is to park on that drive. They are visiting that house so not that strange that they park there. I probably wouldn't but I don't think it is a major question of etiquette.

taylorsdoinapart · 28/05/2022 10:59

I'm as territorial about my driveway as it's possible to be, but assuming it's your house that's on the market I can't see an issue at all with parking on your driveway.

Anydream · 28/05/2022 11:00

I would think this is entirely normal. I would do this if there was space. I would expect viewers to do it to my house too.

greatblueheron · 28/05/2022 11:00

If it's your drive they're parking on, YANBU.

If it's the drive of the house for sale, it really has nothing to do with you.

SleeplessNightAhead · 28/05/2022 11:01

MermaidEyes · 28/05/2022 10:51

Are you a bit territorial about your driveway or something?

Yeah, I am!

I'm sure I've seen this before? Anyway, what's the problem?

Some weird ideas out there🙄
