Do you like your job?

I get so bored at work. I don't have a typically boring job, I have the kind that should be interesting but it's not. Does anyone actually like their job? None of it means anything to me. My job is one that people say should be rewarding.

What do you do? I love my job, the pay is rubbish but the job satisfaction is amazing. I work in a SEND school.

TracyMosby · 28/04/2022 18:29

No

DramaAlpaca · 28/04/2022 18:29

I love mine. I'm not saying what I do as I don't talk about it on here, but I enjoy it.

Tangled123 · 28/04/2022 18:32

I like my job sometimes but the hours are long, pay is rubbish and my boss sucks. I’ve been offered a new job but it’s a longer commute for only slightly more money so I’m not sure if I’ll take it yet.

I’m good at my job but I’m so done with it. I’m ready to move on but I’ve no idea what else to do. I’ve got everything I can out of it and I’m just bored to death.

Qwill · 28/04/2022 18:35

Yes I love mine!

TheLightSideOfTheMoon · 28/04/2022 18:48

Yes, I love my job.

Couldn’t spend 40+ hours a week doing something I hated.

zighead · 28/04/2022 18:50

Absolutely hate it unfortunately, but trapped by not being qualified to do anything else unless I accept a pay cut. Need to persevere for two more years until the mortgage is paid off.

Figstar4eva · 28/04/2022 19:41

Yes, I love my job. Its challenging but I work in the entertainment industry so have lots of great perks that make it worthwhile. You're gonna spend over half you life working, might as well do something that you like 🤷‍♀️

KatherineofGaunt · 28/04/2022 19:44

No.

JungleBungles · 28/04/2022 19:47

No, used to love it now hate it…
Sadly have been doing it for years and know not much else 🤷‍♀️

familyissues12345 · 28/04/2022 19:47

I love it in many ways, really don't love it in others.

I work in early years, the children are the best thing ever, the hours are great (I work in a term time only school hour nursery).

The rubbish? I have no choice but to take my work home - no time for planning etc. Some of the staff are hard work - I work part time, and some treat me (or us, the other part timers) as those that deserve the crap jobs because we aren't here as much Hmm.
The pay is shocking...

Glassesmare · 28/04/2022 19:50

I hate my job and it has destroyed me mentally. Unfortunately it's the only job that fits around childcare so I have to carry on.

MadMadMadamMim · 28/04/2022 19:52

I love my job. I've worked hard to get where I am and it's interesting and absorbing. Most days are challenging and different and I have to think on my feet. I'm grateful for how much I enjoy it, because I have spent many years in jobs I disliked or hated. I still do the same thing - but the difference is the people I work with who are incredibly supportive.

Thepeopleversuswork · 28/04/2022 19:53

Most of the time I love it. But it’s bloody long hours and hard work so I resent the way it eats into my life sometimes.

But I am a workaholic so I would find having a very relaxed job which didn’t demand much of me far more stressful than a hard but interesting job.

Kite22 · 28/04/2022 19:55

Yes, mostly.
It would be better if we had half the caseload, and could do it properly though.

LadyMonicaBaddingham · 28/04/2022 19:56

I love it. Its tiring, but so rewarding. I should have done this years ago.

bluebellsandcustard · 28/04/2022 20:01

No I absolutely hate it but it's a six figure salary. I do it for the money only.

RuthW · 28/04/2022 20:13

Absolutely love it. Been at the same place 31 years

AntarcticTern · 28/04/2022 20:15

Yes, I like my job. It's interesting and challenging and rewarding without being too stressful.

Oblomov22 · 28/04/2022 20:22

Yes. I do accounts. I love doing accounts. It's well paid. Really Easy, non stressful.

DolphinaPD · 28/04/2022 20:26

Yes. I used to do specialist admin and loved it, barely any work and good money.

Just started a new job for pennies but think I'll really like it.

Lochjeda · 28/04/2022 20:28

I absolutely hated mine, couldn't sleep at night and would wake up stressed about stuff. We just merged with another company and I absolutely love it now, the roles changed very slightly and I have less responsibility because my new boss actually manages and does the things I was having to do. Its a massive weight off my shoulders.

lollipoprainbow · 28/04/2022 20:30

I loved my job but my boss retired today and I have new boss and a new way of working, not sure how it's all going to pan out to be honest.
