Do you like your job?

I get so bored at work. I don't have a typically boring job, I have the kind that should be interesting but it's not. Does anyone actually like their job? None of it means anything to me. My job is one that people say should be rewarding.

No I don’t.

Revolut · 28/04/2022 20:30

Adore it.

Mainly because it’s really well paid. If it paid £80k, it wouldn’t be worth the stress.

fairylightsandwaxmelts · 28/04/2022 20:33

I love my job.

I run my own dog-walking and pet-sitting business.

CheeseAndHackers · 28/04/2022 20:38

Hate it.

SingingWaffleDoggy · 28/04/2022 20:57

Yes. NHS, so I get frustrated by certain politics around funding and policies that managers make up that make no sense to those working on the ground, but I try not to sweat the stuff I can’t change so focus on what I can change.
I make a big difference to patients lives. I am there at the time when they need help the most. I love it

motherofchihuahuas · 28/04/2022 20:59

Don't knock boredom. Do you work from home? Does it meet your needs?

I moved from a boring job and I'm going back to my old one that I was bored off. There's a lot to be said for boredom. It's better than being run ragged every day.

ArchieStar · 28/04/2022 21:02

I love it. Clients make the staffing issues worth it ten times over.

MadameDragon · 28/04/2022 21:05

I love mine. It gives me a lot to think about and is challenging without being frustrating. If I won the lottery I’d do it for free

🙄

I love my job, pays £1.2m per year and i work 4 hours a week as a magician.

EileenGC · 28/04/2022 21:09

I love it. I’m in the performing arts and every day is different, with new challenges and new people to meet. I get to travel a lot and no 2 days are the same. I wouldn’t change it for anything, and I’m so glad I chose sometimes that I love doing rather than something that would pay well.

@Howaboutnope

Can you make my ex disappear 🫠

Loobyloo68 · 28/04/2022 21:10

I love my job, I was a se courier for 15 years and moved to an employed job last year . Not very often jobs come up in my town so was lucky to get it. I loved my last job but hated the company I worked for, wished I'd left years ago.

stimpyyouidiot · 28/04/2022 21:11

I love my job. It's the people that make it for me, I have what would be viewed as an extremely boring job. But I work with the most wonderful people that I genuinely love going in and seeing them all every day. I'm going on mat leave in September and I'm actually already sad that I'll miss them all!

Done 😄

devildeepbluesea · 28/04/2022 21:12

I should do. Recently moved within the civil service, massive pay rise and am perfectly capable of doing a great job as advertised.

The place is a mess though. Staff at breaking point and SMT more concerned with reviewing documents that literally no one will ever read than actually addressing the issues people are dealing with daily. Absolutely toxic.

If I can get through this year it’ll get better. But I’m not sure I can.

SkaSkaSka · 28/04/2022 21:12

Yes. I'm children's mental health practitioner and I absolutely love it.

BitOutOfPractice · 28/04/2022 21:14

@Howaboutnope that post also made my eyes roll out of my head too. @Revolut so you adore the money, not the job. Also, give your head a wobble.

I generally love mine but I work for myself and that helps. I’m just trying go to work out how to work fewer hours while just holding onto the stuff I really love and outsource some stuff I don’t.

motherofchihuahuas · 28/04/2022 21:15

@Howaboutnope

I owe you one Smile

Completely agree. I wouldn't get out of bed for £80k 🙄

Amazing

BestestBrownies · 28/04/2022 21:23

I really dislike my job. It’s mind-numbingly dull and repetitive grunt work with no mental stimulation whatsoever and the pay is shit. BUT the benefits outweigh all that as I can WFH, manage my own hours and am able to pick up work for my ‘side-hustle’ when it’s convenient

vodkaredbullgirl · 28/04/2022 21:25

I must do, I've been there 17 yrs Smile

Unodosyz · 28/04/2022 21:28

Mostly I do love it. It's not saving anyone it simply ticks over and is something I enjoy that doesn't typically stress me out much.

Pah. I wouldn't get out of bed for less than £1m😂

PatientlyWaiting21 · 28/04/2022 21:33

No, my boss is a total and utter cunt.
