I’m guessing I’m freezing as we’ve had some nice warm weather and I’ve got used to being warm but I’m so cold today. Dreading the winter when it will be colder and can’t have the heating on as much!

Same here, put heating on at lunch for an hour. Brrrr

nearlyspringyay · 27/04/2022 16:52

We
Don't have a thermostat. It's bloody feeezing. Heating is on.

the80sweregreat · 27/04/2022 16:54

The weather forecast is also rain free too in the south as well , normally April is more rainy than this , showers etc.
it is odd weather for spring

pigsDOfly · 27/04/2022 17:04

I've got my heating on. The thermostat is set at 20 degrees but the room temperature is 25 degrees - the room gets a lot of sun in the afternoon.

I'm sitting in a warm thick jumper with a vest top underneath and I'm just comfortable.

I fear that there are going to be a lot of old and less mobile people dying next winter because they just can't afford to heat their homes.

In Britain in 2022 it's completely unacceptable that people are being put in that situation.

pigsDOfly · 27/04/2022 17:07

*Sorry that should be room temperature is 22.5

Idontgiveashitanymore · 27/04/2022 17:20

I’ve been under my blanket for 3 hours 🥶

Mindymomo · 27/04/2022 17:24

Went out for 2 hour walk this morning in thin jacket, so needed heating on when I got home to warm up, it’s been on since.

ArseInTheCoOpWindow · 27/04/2022 17:26

It’s 8 degrees outside. I’ve had to put ours on, it’s freezing.

Cstring · 27/04/2022 17:26

I made the mistake of popping to the shops without a jacket a lunch time. My hands were blue when I got back. I have had my little oil filled radiator on in my office this afternoon, rather than central heating. I’m dreading winter 🥶

LeftFootForward · 27/04/2022 17:41

OP I'm confused...if your house is 19 degrees isn't that an acceptable temperature? We never have our thermostat set above 19 degrees.

MayMorris · 27/04/2022 17:49

I spent a week shivering after I decided it was April . I looked at buying some fingerless gloves online on Saturday. Put my heating back on again yesterday. I can now feel my hands again 😊

SagaNorenLansrimMalmo · 27/04/2022 17:52

when we have the heat on, we set the thermostat to 18…😳 and it’s fine, you just wear a jumper…

SilverHairedCat · 27/04/2022 17:53

Our thermostat is set at 17c in winter and I WFH full time!

Go put more clothes on 😂

Sunflowersinthewind · 27/04/2022 17:54

My house is 15 degrees and we are just toughing it out. From this weekend, it is warm

kitcat15 · 27/04/2022 17:55

Just got in from work….it 16.9 but feels cold….have just put dressing gown on

Marmite27 · 27/04/2022 18:00

We’ve all felt cold since Monday. The heatings not been on, but we have closed the windows (had them on ‘draft’ for airflow) and lit the wood burner earlier.

As a result, the kids are now just in pants and a vest rather than leggings and a tshirt. I’ve still got a tshirt, thick fleece and Gillet on. I’m so pleased the kids don’t feel the cold like I do!

Why are you confused?

19 degrees might be right for you but it is low for some people.

I would never have my thermostat set at such a low temperature, especially in the winter, if I actually wanted the heating to kick in and warm the house.

My thermostat is set at 22 degrees at the moment. That's also the temperature in the room and the radiators are off and cooling down.

The room no longer feels warm.

BlackeyedSusan · 27/04/2022 18:03

Crikey. My toes are maybe a little chilly ..maybe I should change out of shorts and t shirt or put some socks on. (No heating, it's broken)

I am going to get the thermometer out to check as I am usually a cold person. (I wear fifty million layers in winter)

Is feeling cold normal for you?

Ginandslippers · 27/04/2022 18:07

We set ours at 19°c as it's only me that feels the cold, ideally I'd have it warmer! I do think that the house being at 19 without heating feels different to 19 when the heating has been on, weirdly!

pizzaand · 27/04/2022 18:07

Ours is currently 20 - next door seem to heat their house like a sauna which keeps ours warm and it's normally higher - I've opened windows as it's too warm for me 🤣

SirenSays · 27/04/2022 18:08

I'm freezing and my poor plants outside have no idea what's going on with this weather.

lightand · 27/04/2022 18:10

I always say I am a 21.5 degree person

OfstedOffred · 27/04/2022 18:12

No one will die at 19 degrees.

I usually realise in a cold snap at this time of year that I'm not wearing enough and need to layer back up.

I was cold first thing but added slippers and a jumper then was fine

lightand · 27/04/2022 18:13

Do more clothes on, stop cold air going into lungs? I dont think so.

OfstedOffred · 27/04/2022 18:14

Ps my thermostat is barely ever set above 19! And I feel the cold relatively, but I just dress warmly and keep moving.
