I agree. Twitter is a race to the bottom anyway - god knows where Mr Musk will take it. I deleted my Twitter account a while back (and yes, dear @SilverHairedCat , it's very nice) and my life is hugely better for it.

But you were ok with furthering the ambitions of Jack Dorsey, Prince Al-Waleed bin Talal and Talal Ibrahim Al Maiman, among other equally dubious people. On a platform notorious for vile abuse of women and pedophile apologists being allowed on a constant basis, while those who objected were routinely banned. I mean it's nice and all that you're leaving, because twitter is a vile cesspit, but your moral compass is a bit off, if you're leaving now but not at the depravity of the last few years.

Why have yo felt the need to announce it? The world really doesn't care whether you're on Twitter or not. Have you left because EM has made comments advocating for free speech? I know that's a problem for many authoritarian loons at the moment.

I do hope Twitter will be able to continue to function without your presence. So many were only there to hear the pearls of wisdom @Rookiemistake used to provide.

I agree Twitter is a cess pit of misogyny where women are banned for saying factual matters and yet rape and death threats are allowed to stand.

Joanna Cherry's take down of the Twitter exec with all the examples of what's allowed to stay up on Twitter really set out the issue. So I'm not worried that it will get worse and hopefully it might improve.

Twitter is a platform to enable many deeply unpleasant people to attack free speech, individuals etc. I'm pleased you will be leaving, and dearly hope everyone else does the same. One down and all that.
