I have no desire to further the ambitions of Elon Musk.

I am mildly optimistic. TBH Musk couldn't be much worse, in any case.
And with any luck we will no longer have to see Twitter 'moderators' crowing about how they can ban people for giving dictionary definitions of words like woman, mother etc etc.

I barely use it because the perfectly normal things I want to say would get me abused / threatened / banned. So I just retweet the odd work thing now and again.

I remember when Twitter was the social media platform for the educated, pleasant people. It’s a bottom feeding cesspit now. If we would have another platform and keep them plebs out it would be amazing

I doubt twitter change much at all even with him in charge. He might let Trump back on as a wind-up, then get bored and move onto something else. At a micro/day to day level the moderation policies will be the same.

And I wonder if some of the twitter users with 50,000 followers (who are not famous or verified, and who have only been on twitter since October,) will suddenly lose 90% of their followers? ie; all the ones they have bought? 😁

For years now the Twitter bros have been facilitating violent misogyny against women, death and rape threats, intimidating and pornographic imagery - a torrent of abuse at both famous and ordinary women who do nothing more than state biological truth or advocate for women and lesbian rights. All the while silencing and banishing similar women who won't be silent about the abuse.

Only now there is a slim possibility that this abuse may be limited, and other things like the rising rebranded 'MAP' pedophilic cohort may be impeded somewhat, you are minded to delete your account?
