To update about The Family Sex Show

There are active two threads on this in Feminism but I feel I just have to update here for traffic. Although protests appear to have, for now, stopped the theatre production going ahead, new and highly disturbing material has today appeared on their webpage, clearly aimed at children. It (cheerily and breezily) suggests, among other things, that children search for images of masturbating animals on the internet and then draw what they see. I am not going to Google that term, I really don't want that in my history, but first, can you imagine what children will be exposed to if they search that, and second, this is pure and simple grooming of children into being abused. Masturbating animals? What larks! Lets have an arts and crafts session about it! Next steps: Masturbating with Uncle Jim? Why not? Masturbating Uncle Jim? Of course!

I have now made a complaint to CEOP. Others may wish to as well.

@picklemewalnuts I have sent another email to the NSPCC, about the online activity of the company this time, rather than the stage show, and I included a link to that tweet. It is unbelievable isn't it.

Completely right @Doubletoilandtrouble . I work with those very children, in their adulthood. I have heard hundreds of times exactly how the boundaries get eroded. And how the abuse starts. This material put out by TFSS is a massive gift to the abusers. It's like a Twinkl worksheet for them. Come on, let's try this fun stuff. Um. Should we not be careful about slandering individuals? Maybe what could be considered hysterical is the assumption that these people are definitely predatory. The useful idiot is part of a deception themselves no? They believe themselves to be doing good. Cultural delusion is a big problem no? Look at the atrocities people commit under the influence of group-think. It's a bit more complex...isn't it? Some of these people are heavily immersed in queer cultism and society has let lots of this stuff spiral...

I think many people involved with this are misguided and unwittingly perpetrating evil, but I think the intentions are confused and a direct product of our cultural soup of what is right and wrong, particularly sexually.

I think if they were happy to put their name to the family sex show before public opinion turned they should be happy to put their name to it after 🤷🏼‍♀️ they don’t get to suddenly conceal their identities because it turns out the public don’t like sex shows for children.

Anyway my point was mainly that I think it’s interesting that allegedly a few people who worked on TFSS also work for the BBC who wrote such a sympathetic article.

They deliberately blurred the boundaries of what was for who. And presumably the penis song was to appear in the show? The Guardian certainly indicated the clitoris one was. And the show was labelled as being for 5+.

The intention clearly was for children (and groomers) to go and see the show and then explore the related online material. Preferably (for the groomers) together.

In any case, producing a clearly child-orientated song inviting mutual masturbation is not a great idea, even if you say it is for 16+. Nothing to stop the groomers using it for young children anyway, to whom it was deliberately designed to appeal.

And what age range was ‘ode to the clitoris’ aimed at ?

16 year olds are perfectly capable of making up their own immature penis songs, they don’t need a theatre company to do it for them. But this is part of the problem - there was no clear separation of material by age of audience, just a big jumble of pegging, nudity and clitoris songs for everyone.

You think this is slander? On Twitter people are outright calling them you-know-what. This lot have a lot on their hands if they're going to take legal action against every comment.

This bloke has doubled down, refused to remove the picture and just put his account on private. More than a useful idiot, they love the outrage.

I don't know about your children, but my son, when we go to an event or destination, invariably looks up stuff related to it online before and afterwards. We went to a show recently and he spent the next day rewatching YouTube clips of it and researching the cast and past productions. That was clearly the intention with the children who were to go to TFSS and then explore the online material.

I have fairly tight controls on what my son sees and have three different parental blockers on all his devices, including one that lets me see exactly what videos he has watched on YouTube and block whole channels if I wish. None of them is free, or even cheap, and they all require a significant level of supervision and upkeep. Not every parent is going to (or is going to be able to) have that level of scrutiny.

And what about the parents (and as they call them on the website, guardians ie any adult in the child's life) who who will be wishing to actively encourage the child to engage with the fluffy slippers to animal wanking to mutual masturbating continuum offered on a plate by this organisation?
