To switch off the power at 10pm tomorrow night

Just seen this on Instagram.

I’m at the stage anything has to be worth it. Il probably do it, it’s just as I go to bed anyway so why not.

I’m not suggesting it will solve the issue, but might piss a few people off?

Anyone else?

How on earth would it make price rises, the causes of which are largely out of the energy companies' hands, go back to what they were before, say, Ukraine was ttacked?

@OutingHobby your wired alarm should have a back up battery. Some recharge but others need checking so you might want to make sure it is on

Though, to people worried about fridge freezers, keep it shut and it will be fine for ages (have had mine off for hours, in the daytime, in a Sydney heatwave).

A quick online search showed that the Spanish did organise a mass electric switch off for 10 minutes at 10pm on March 10th. The Spanish government capped their price at the 2019 level. It is not clear that the protest had an influence on this decision. I don’t think it will make any difference here but I will be taking part.

For those saying that they have seen different dates and times etc. It is for 10 minutes at 10pm on April 10th. The success of this protest will depend on how many people participate. If the whole country turned off all of the electricity in their homes, it would make a massive statement to the government. But it would have to be all of the electricity in your house, not just turning off your lights, and it would have to be a significant amount of the pollution

Do you share everything you see on social media? It's always a good idea to take a moment and think these things through. If you think about it logically, why and how would something like work?

How would people keep freezers working? Those with aquariums or vivariums

And why would the energy companies drop prices?

There's just so much there that doesn't work if you stop and think for a mo
