Just as the title says.

Noah Donohoe disappeared coming home from school, his body was found in a storm drain without his clothes.

His mother can not get answers on why the police decided, immediately that there was no four play and us being blocked from seeing 4 files by the police.

She says On the day Noah was found, before Noah was formally identified, the Police did a media release stating that there was ‘No Foul Play’ involved.I ask, if the police are so sure that ‘No Foul Play’ was involved, why are the police now trying to stop me, as Noah’s mummy, getting four files of information on Noah’s investigation?

Surely I am not unreasonable to think this isn't ok and that most of use would want to know what had happened to our child?

This is an overview of what has happened so far.

What a nightmare, I can't wrap my head around what sounds like the police actually hiding evidence in the murder of a child? Who are paramilitaries and why would the police protect them? What did the initials stand for in the Mum's post about them destroying her son's body, and why would they be allowed to do this?!! Why the hell would the media avoid investigating this story? It sounds like this has happened before from some pp.

Two years of this for the poor family, why??Sad

I'm not from the UK does anyone know if I can still sign the petition?

Fiona’s tweet about the senior PSNI detective mentioning UDA= Ulster Defence Association. They are a loyalist paramilitary group.

Long history of ‘alleged’ collusion.

Anyone can sign the petition 🙏💙

the history is long and complex and painful.
www.theguardian.com/uk-news/2022/feb/08/evidence-police-in-belfast-colluded-with-loyalists-in-the-troubles-report-finds
This is why Fiona has been very clear that she is grateful to all those in Belfast, who helped look for Noah and have supported her since.
This is why she has always thanked all, who have been investigating for their findings.
There is, however, a minority of racists anywhere. There are also loyalist areas, not safe for Noah (who was Catholic) to have gone through.
There would be fear in speaking out if paramilitaries were, in any way, involved.

The RUC (Royal Ulster Constab) was accused back in the day of one-sided policing. The PSNI (Police Service of Northern Ireland) formed/renamed 2001 currently has 32% Catholic officers and only 46/144 new recruits in 2020 were Catholic (24%). 50-50 was the ideal.
Paramilitary groups (Ulster Volunteer Force and Ulster Defence Association) still exist - even if card-carrying rather than active: 7,500 people in the UVF and 5,000 in the UDA.

The media were asked to respect the family's peace/allow them to grieve but this may also have been a tactic to avoid media spotlight on the case - the wording has also been careful as the PSNI wanted to avoid social unrest/Noah's death being used as an excuse for things to kick off again.

Fiona has done everything right and cooperated in every way. She does now have the right to closure and to question how and why things were done as they were.

If you have signed or signed and shared the petition and are wondering what else you can do to help Noah and Fiona apart from helping to bump this thread and the petition thread, please consider an email, tweet, call, conversation or letter to your own government and local representatives in the UK, Ireland, and to Doreen Lawrence at the House of Lords. It would be very much appreciated. Do let us know what response you get if you can. 💙

Thank you for all the info BadHair. I spent some time reading about the UDA and was shocked. It's not a part of history/current events that I was familiar with. I still find it terrifying and hard to comprehend that the police would cover up a child's murder and have the power to get away with it. But I've come to realize that most forces the world over are unfortunately not filled with 'good guys'.
Bettysnow · 17/04/2022 17:54

I watched Fionas interview with James English last night and was absolutely horrified by the whole cloak of secrecy surrounding what actually happened to noah.
How can any senior police chief look this woman in the eye and tell her they genuinely believed that no one hurt him? How do they look at their own kids and sleep easily at night knowing all the facts yet still insisting no foul play!
This is absolutely shocking and terrifying to realise that the dark old days and ways of the troubles never really went away!

Noah's auntie Niamh Donohoe on Twitter:

'Why did police not do a lot of things. Why did police not investigate. Noah deserves a NEW,TRANSPARENT & THOROUGH INVESTIGATION. He never received that to date. The PSNI need to admit their huge failings and step aside for another force to investigate.'

She's right, of course. 💙
