McDonalds.

It's McDonalds. Not MacDonalds. Has always been McDonalds as far as I can tell. Everyone calls it McDonalds. Except on Mumsnet. Why? And AIBU for finding it absolutely infuriating? It is one of the biggest brands in the world and whether or not you eat there surely it's not that difficult so spell it correctly?

Does it matter?

Fedupbuyer · 20/02/2022 19:13

We just call it maccies where I’m from Grin

SummaLuvin · 20/02/2022 19:13

actually, I think you'll find its maccies

piglet81 · 20/02/2022 19:13

I think people misspell it on purpose to show that it’s really not their sort of place dahling Wink

Or perhaps autocorrect.

mintbiscuit · 20/02/2022 19:14

We call it MaccaDonalds in our house!

Ihopeyourcakeisshit · 20/02/2022 19:14

Perhaps It's the 'Big Mac' that throws people?

pieonthesofa · 20/02/2022 19:15

@TibetanTerrah

Does it matter?
There are a lot of things that don't matter but are discussed anyway. But constantly seeing a well known brand spelt incorrectly annoys me. And I was wondering why it is the case. There is no other word on here I constantly see misspelt.

You're wrong.
It's called Maccies.
Or Maccie D's
Grin

pieonthesofa · 20/02/2022 19:17

Maccies I will accept as it's not spelt wrong but more of a nickname. See also McDs etc :).

Good point about the Big Mac I didn't think of that.

I did think it was showing ooooooh look how infrequently I eat there I don't even know what it's called. But the signs are bloody everywhere you don't have to eat there to know what it is called!

I know what you mean, it slightly irritates me when people say Witherspoons instead of Wetherspoons. Doesn’t annoy me that much but I just think how hard is it to just get it right they are everywhere fgs.

OneTC · 20/02/2022 19:18

Am I the only one who has never seen it spelt Mac Donald’s on here or any where else Confused

It’s maccies or maccie d’s in this house anywayGrin

DoctorSnortles · 20/02/2022 19:26

It’s ‘Sainsbos’ that gives me the perimenopausal killing-rage. I only ever see it on here and I automatically assume the poster is some sort of half-wit who talks about ‘hubbies’ ‘biccies’ ‘cuppas’ and going on their ‘holibobs.’

gogohm · 20/02/2022 19:27

Mackie d's , yes to marks's too

Mamamia7962 · 20/02/2022 19:27

AIBU to point out that it's McDonald's, not McDonalds?
Partyatnumberten · 20/02/2022 19:32

To those who haven't seen it yet. There was a thread today. Search and loads of threads will come up. Maybe it's one of those things you don't notice necessarily until it's pointed out?
