Really sick of this weather

It always seems worse in February as we've had 3 or 4 months of this cold, wet, gray, windy and miserable weather and it seems never ending.

Another month or so until spring and it starts to improve.

I wonder if the YABU posters haven't had the same weather that you and I have had @User135644?

It has been foul this month. Very windy with horizontal rain, and really unpleasant to be outside in, and extremely unpleasant to drive on motorways in.

I was down south for a day and it was okay, even got a bit of sunlight, albeit cold and windy which you'd expect in Feb.

Up north where I am it's just been relentlessly grim.

I’m in West Yorks, and I manage flood risk for a job. I live by the weather! It hasn’t been anything as bad as the last couple of winters, or several before in the last 20 years or so. Frustratingly, we’ve had a few back to back stormy weekends, which have prevented DS and I going to our Archery club.

nutellingyou · 14/02/2022 07:28

Yep it's colder now than it has been too. I work outside and it's been absolutely freezing this week. But the grey skies do make it miserable, but as I'm outside I do get those lovely bursts of sunshine and get to see the bursts of colour like the crocuses and the daffs coming out which gives me optimism for warmer weather!

BobbinThreadbare123 · 14/02/2022 07:37

I'm in Cumbria. It's been utterly foul for ages now. So windy all the time! It's rained solidly all weekend too, after a lovely sunny Friday (typical!)
I don't mind the cold but the relentless driving rain plus wind is really boring now.

RampantIvy · 14/02/2022 07:37

January was dryer than usual, but the last two weekends have been foul. The river Don was running very high last weekend in Penistone, but subsided quite quickly.

LadyCleathStuart · 14/02/2022 07:40

We had terrible snow for most of Jan/Feb last year and tbh I would rather that again than this horrible rain and wind. It has been so dark and grey it feels oppressive. Can't wait for spring.

Octomore · 14/02/2022 07:43

YANBU at all. I love winter sports, so don't mind the cold, but the wind and rain have been insane this winter. Really awful.

radioactive4 · 14/02/2022 07:44

YANBU.

All of 2021 was such crap weather. We barely had a summer.

So over this shite weather.

January was fairly dry, but extremely windy.
BuritoCat · 14/02/2022 07:45

The rain and cold I can deal with however the 50-90 mph wind storms we've had every other week I cannot cope with.

pictish · 14/02/2022 07:45

Yanbu, climate change predicted mild, wet, windy winters and lo and behold….perpetual murk it is.

I’d love to see a bit of snow.

ExactlyThat · 14/02/2022 07:46

Interestingly we’ve only had a couple of days of rain since Christmas! Which is amazing, normally it’s torrential every day. We have rain due though so getting up and out whilst the sun is shining

pictish · 14/02/2022 07:47

It IS still winter btw.

ShittyFingers · 14/02/2022 07:47

No I love it, less screeching kids about. I dread summer.

That's more the point though. Really sick of winter now, bring on spring.

It has been grim lately I agree , I’ve know it to be sunny although cold but nice enough to go out for walks / tidy the garden at the end of February so I’m hoping that may happen , saying that we’ve had snow at times late February too . Nearly spring though it’s getting lighter so not much longer spring is my favourite time of year .

Toanewstart23 · 14/02/2022 07:59

Yet another reason I’m so happy to live in SE

We’ve had the best winter I can imagine
Yesterday…. Bright blue sky and cloudless

R0tational · 14/02/2022 08:00

Storms on the way this week Grin

tigger1001 · 14/02/2022 08:04

Very stormy this winter with more forecast this week. Can't say I've thought it's been particularly wet all winter although this weekend has been pretty wet and miserable.

RampantIvy · 14/02/2022 08:10

Do you never spend any time outside @ShittyFingers?

I need to go outside and feel fresh air on my face, but being a glasses wearer it is very unpleasant in high winds and rain. I don't mind cold, dry weather, but I hate feeling trapped inside because it is just too awful to go outside.

Yes I love being outside in winter. I’m outside much more on winter than I am in summer
bigbluebus · 14/02/2022 08:11

It's definitely been drier than usual up until now. We do a lot of walking locally and places which are normally very muddy at this time of year (even impassable in some places) have been absolutely fine. I think February looks like it's going to make up for it though!
I too can't wait for spring and the hope of warmer/drier weather. I'm spending far too many weekends on the sofa doing not much as the weather is so gloomy.

RampantIvy · 14/02/2022 08:20

I agree that February is seems to be making up for a dry January. DH and I like walking, but so many place are just too muddy now to be enjoyable. I have actally been to buy some wellies I can walk in as my walkingb boots aren't very comortable.

MuffinStrops · 14/02/2022 08:21

I really hate Winter.
