Really sick of this weather

It always seems worse in February as we've had 3 or 4 months of this cold, wet, gray, windy and miserable weather and it seems never ending.

Another month or so until spring and it starts to improve.

I'm on the south coast and although January was very grey, February has been pretty sunny and cold, although we had quite a bit of rain yesterday.

MrsSkylerWhite · 14/02/2022 10:50

With the driest January on record, we really need the rain to top up reservoirs.

SuspiciousScully · 14/02/2022 11:24

It's been awful here. Every weekend seems to bring another horrible storm that destroys trees, fences, gardens, roofs everything. Huge areas of woodland have been flattened

We've been much more fortunate than many local people who have had days at a time of no electricity, no gas, no water etc. with each new storm. We only had a day of no electricity a couple of weeks back, a damaged fence and flooded foundations. Nowhere near as bad as many we know.

Chely · 14/02/2022 11:48

I can't wait for line drying weather, hard to get everything dry with just clothes horses and dehumidifier in a house of 8.
Dog always covered in mud after walks in this wet weather too, I envy baby a bit all snug in the pram 🤣.

User135644 · 14/02/2022 12:44

Storms announced now for this week. It's been constantly windy for weeks but will go up a level again now.

@CandyLeBonBon

It's February! Not sure what you expect?
I'd expect to be fed up of the shit weather.

@FourTeaFallOut

I think February is the worst month but March is the most disappointing. At least you know February will be shit, by March you think you have made it to spring and it should be significantly better but it rarely is.
You tend to get a bit of everything in March though. My birthday is in March and it can be anything from a glorious, warm sunny day to freezing cold/torrential rain/storms.

This month wouldn't be so bad if we were getting the sunlight that they seem to be getting down south. It's relentlessly windy, grey and cold.

@pictish

It IS still winter btw.
Well why can't we have proper winters with snow? At least we'd have something pretty to look at. The weather outside is more like autumn at the moment.
MangoLipstick · 14/02/2022 13:12

I’m in the NW - we had some lovely days in Jan, sunny, blue skies, we even went to the beach a few times, but the last couple of weeks have been grey and wet.

Winter is my least favourite month, I only like it till Christmas.

I’m so looking forward to seeing flowers come back to life and to see green again! Bring on spring, I’m actually excited about it!

RedCandyApple · 14/02/2022 13:13

Depends where you live in London (apart from yesterday) it’s been usually sunny, yesterday was the first time it’s rained in weeks

pictish · 14/02/2022 13:17

I couldn’t agree more. It’s entirely my point. I’m sick of this weather too…what happened to winter?

Toothsil · 14/02/2022 13:21

I don't even mind winter as a rule, but I'm sick of it this year because we've had so many high winds - it feels like most days! I'm recovering from major surgery and I'm supposed to be having daily walks and it's been impossible.

RampantIvy · 14/02/2022 18:18

This was my motorway drive this morning - A1 in Yorkshire.

Really sick of this weather
ArseInTheCoOpWindow · 14/02/2022 18:20

We’ve had lovely weather in Jan in S. Yorks. Mild and lots and lots of sun. Even this month started off sunny.

fairylightsandwaxmelts · 14/02/2022 19:02

YANBU at all - we're due to be hit by 60mph winds on Wednesday...

Returnoftheowl · 14/02/2022 19:23

This winter seems to have been going on for much longer than normal, it's really dragging.

Shock But last year was terrible. It was officially a cold winter and when the country unlocked it was freezing all through May. As it had been through April no and March. And it never stopped raining and snowing. I remember going out one day and it had a wind chill factor of -13.

This winter has been like spring where l am until the last few days.

Bootikin · 14/02/2022 21:27

OP, if this is such a major issue for you, why not move to a place with a different climate? I’m justified in asking as I loathed the climate of my home city so I moved to the U.K. to escape it.

Your feet aren’t nailed to the floor.

Move to Algarve or Adelaide hmmm?

Figgygal · 14/02/2022 21:31

Im in the south west and have barely had any rain or wind for a month
Yesterday was a shock to the system

mrstnov13 · 14/02/2022 21:38

I'm down in Kent and we've had some lovely sunny days recently. It's been rather mild.

crackofdoom · 14/02/2022 21:47

I don't know where everybody else in the SW is, but this has been a shit winter in Cornwall. And by shit I mean perpetually mizzling and overcast- glimpses of sunshine over the last few months have been vanishingly rare.

I regularly talk to someone on the N. coast of N. Wales, and the weather seems much better there! Colder, but clearer.

Undecicive · 14/02/2022 22:10

Finally we had rain. it needs to rain in the winter. (For the reservoirs and to avoid a drench in the summer - last one being my personal observation.)

Undecicive · 14/02/2022 22:11

Storms aren't special, they've just been given names to warn/scare people to be more aware.

The last few days in North Wales have been miserable. Plus there are two storms coming up this week, one hitting the North of the UK, the other hitting the South & Midlands. Guess who is in the middle and going to be hit by both Hmm
surreymum89 · 14/02/2022 22:36

@Toanewstart23 and @Oblomov22 I'm in the south east/ Surrey and it has not been nice either today or yesterday ! Confused grey, rainy , cold wind , pretty grim to be honest , yesterday especially so
