He’s not going anywhere is he, old Barnacle Boris?

No matter what is thrown at him, Boris is not going to do the decent thing and step down is he? He’ll cling on until he’s pushed and even then I imagine he’ll stage a sit-in at Number 10.

Surely even he can see his behaviour is appalling and he’s not fit to run the country? So depressing.

I’m hoping he will manage to do significant damage to the Tory party though.

I’ve got the Beatles tune Bungalow Bill stuck in my head now:-

Hey, Barnacle Bo
When will you go
Barnacle Bo

😂

There is that I suppose!

Yes, in a way I hope he doesn't and he sinks the party. Not the party party but the political party Wink

L0uby1 · 06/02/2022 21:54

No, unfortunately not. Not when the Met is protecting him. He'll have to be forcibly removed from Downing street!

Nospringchix · 06/02/2022 21:55

Hope he destroys the tory party for many years to come. So many people are suffering due to some of their policies.

lissie123 · 06/02/2022 21:55

Yep he’s behaving like Donald Trump…

sausagerole · 06/02/2022 21:55

I've long thought this.

In order to resign, you need to have some sort of moral standards/integrity against which you perceive yourself to have fallen short. Boris doesn't have that moral compass, and therefore this isn't a moral issue for him (can he still have integrity as a leader) but an eminently practical one (can he survive without being ousted).

The only way I see him resigning is if someone blackmailed him or made it financially worth his while somehow and it was therefore in his own interests to do so.

TheMissingMango · 06/02/2022 21:56

Yup. Poundshop Trump.

DorothyZbornakIsAQueen · 06/02/2022 21:58

He shares the majority of traits with a psychopath.

He is way too narcissistic to do what's right.

Arrogant tory twat.

Yes. If he thinks he can get loads more money elsewhere he might be tempted and Carrie might encourage him.

Adeleskirts · 06/02/2022 21:58

I actually think if he wasn’t being pushed to go, he likely would have done. But the pushing him to go has made him dig his heels in and stay. It’s had the opposite effect.

So yup, he’s staying.

ThesecondLEM · 06/02/2022 21:58

He's worse than trump, he is a fucking disgrace. I cannot fathom how he is still there and still people say oh but its a difficult job.

EllaB22 · 06/02/2022 21:59

It really seems like he will never do the right thing and step down!

lumpofcomfort · 06/02/2022 22:02

He has lied and got away with so much over the years that he probably doesn't feel like anything can bring him down. He just feels that if he rides it out, people will get bored talking about it and want to draw a line under it.

There was an interesting article in the Guardian a couple of days ago about how the Tory party often manages to ride out crises and scandals. It suggested the death knell for the Conservative government will only be when the voters decide the Tories have just been in power for too long. Last time this happened was 1997 but that was aided by Tony Blair really selling himself to the right wing press.

You can read it here

I'm really struggling to see how we're going to get him out...

OverByYer · 06/02/2022 22:04

he's bloody Teflon. I don't know what it will take.

I think you've hit the nail on the head there. He would only resign if it was in his own interests to do so through blackmail or financial incentives.

He seems to make a lot of decisions based on his own interests and what will help him stay in power.

jessy100 · 06/02/2022 22:08

Where the fuck is Starmer and his pathetic excuse for an opposition. He's spent more of his time trying to stab Cornyn in the back than challenge Johnson!

JustLyra · 06/02/2022 22:10

No-one wants to take over.

Between Brexit biting, the costs of Covid and the energy prices there is a massive shitstorm to be ridden for whoever is in no 10 over the next few months.

Much like when Theresa may took over it’s an absolute poisoned chalice atm.

No-one who actually has aims to be PM for a significant period of time will risk a shot at it now, and while that’s the case there won’t be a genuine push from the party for him to go.

TokyoSushi · 06/02/2022 22:10

The only reason I can see for him resigning is if he decides he simply can't be arsed with any of it anymore.

If you're doing the job properly then being PM is really hard work. He simply cannot he bothered with most of it, so he might just get bored and move on, but when?!

StoneofDestiny · 06/02/2022 22:28

He is so amoral we can't expect him to have a conscience. The Tories supporting him are unfit for the roles they hold. The country deserves better than this.

Haffiana · 06/02/2022 22:40

The country deserves better than this.

The racist fucks of this country voted him in to Take Back Control. They have got exactly what they deserve.
