He’s not going anywhere is he, old Barnacle Boris?

No matter what is thrown at him, Boris is not going to do the decent thing and step down is he? He’ll cling on until he’s pushed and even then I imagine he’ll stage a sit-in at Number 10.

Surely even he can see his behaviour is appalling and he’s not fit to run the country? So depressing.

I see his new head of coms is trying to restore the old tried and unfortunately successful ‘harmless funny Boris’ bollocks. It’s all spin.
Johnson’s lie re Starmer was, IMO, a calculated move and he won’t apologise thus leaving the ambiguity which reminds me of Trump’s tactics.

He stooped to a new low that I didn’t think that was even possible.
Much as though I dislike Cummings I am hoping he has his finale lined up for Johnson.

@Spookytooth

I would say the Jimmy Savile sneer to Starmer demonstrates that he is making progress and has got under BJ's skin. That was a seriously unacceptable comment.
Yes it was a very weak and desperate thing to do.

Part of me feels the Tories are happy to stir the pot a bit though so they can let the cost of living crisis slide. They are so out of touch and self-serving that they think we won't care if 1/3 of people in the UK skip meals (that is one if the statistics I saw yesterday). Again they have judged the public wrong, I am fuming about this and I know other people are too. They aren't even in financial difficulty, so who knows what the people who are struggling are feeling.

It does feel the public mood is tipping towards anger and outrage - directed towards self serving, hypocritical politicians and those who don't pay tax and use taxpayers money to line their own pockets while churning out services that barely function. If does feel something is about to boil over soon and although it scares me, I hope something good will follow. I could be wrong though and people continue to ignore the state of things.

It's a shame those protesters can't see this - they were calling Keir Starmer elitist and can't actually see who is running the country and causing all the issues they complain about 🤦 Whether they are on Boris Johnson's side or not, they are certainly making themselves look like they are.

It would be pointless dropping something now, isn't it recess next week? My money is on the weekend before they return. A nice Sunday paper exclusive....Confused

@lljkk

Tories didn't win big in '92: Major had a quite small majority & relied on DUP a lot.

What used to shock me was how Tories constantly blamed Labour for economic woes & govt decisions in the 1990s. Their repeat soundbite was "We only have this problem or have to do all these measures because of the damage Labour did when they were in power." Journalists didn't call Tories out on that ridiculous excuse until about 1995. I have no idea why this claim convinced voters so strongly, when Labour was only previously in power 1945-1951, 1964-1970 & 1974-1979.

Don't forget to punish the Tories severely in local elections May 2022.

They still go on about the bloody 70s now. It was 50 years ago and the Tories were in power for half of it.
