Part 4

@22itsallnew Really hope your correct but the Tory party/MPs will do what is best for them, not the country and the longer BJ lasts, the more likely he will stay.

Like Trump, Bojo has a hard core of fans and most polls give Labour 5 or 6pts ahead of BJ (as of 15th Jan) remarkable how the con vote has held up.

A report from one of the so called "red wall" constituencies quoted someone saying something along the lines of "who cares if he had a bit of cake on his birthday?" . I despair. It's not the cake, it's not the parties, it's not even breaking the law, it's the lies. It's always the lies. Nixon wasn't brought down because of Watergate, he was brought down because he lied about it. It's always the lie.

Having Dick in your corner trying to play the trump card isn't going to take way from the fact that he told lie, after lie, after lie. Some of them he told to parliament.

At the moment, I'm equally furious at Johnson for his lies, and Dick for her attempt to stifle any consequence for him. Both "public servants".

If I thought this country had fallen as low as it could get in 2016 and 2019, I was sadly mistaken.

If I was twenty years younger, id move to Scotland and vote " oh, yes, please" in an indepence referendum.

Johnson has always been well liked but this time he crossed a line. If it's minimised people don't care about cake or a drink, particularly now the harsh realities of lockdown living are ebbing away, but as @user1471453601 points out its the lies that people can't abide.

Why? Scotland will do well as an independent country as many other small countries around the world do.
Peregrina · 29/01/2022 20:11

Well, if Scotland did vote for Independence by a convincing majority, who would those of us in England be in a position to speak against it? It would be the Will of the Scottish People. But perhaps the Will of the Scottish People isn't as important as the Will of the (Brexit) people, which we heard so much about not so many months ago?

Fake news.

Boris wouldn't have such sensitive information as he just reads out messages and tends the pot plants.

OP posts:
Peregrina · 29/01/2022 20:19

That is truly shocking. God knows what Sensitive information could have got into the wrong hands. Perhaps that is the bit that Cressida Dick is being forced to consider. It's not just birthday cake and wine.

Who gave Carrie Johnson's friends the access codes to the flat?

derxa · 29/01/2022 20:20

Why? Scotland will do well as an independent country as many other small countries around the world do. Have you any idea what's going on up here? Nicola was investigated for possibly misleading the SP in the Alec Salmond case. The creepy sex surveys for secondary school pupils. The covid response which was just as shit as the English one. The use of public money to campaign for independence. Have a look on the Scotsnet threads.

DuncinToffee · 29/01/2022 20:20

And Carrie's friends needed the key when house sitting those pot plants

Peregrina · 29/01/2022 20:21

But perhaps that's why he's running off to somewhere near Ukraine. He always runs away when in trouble.

Peregrina · 29/01/2022 20:26

I honestly do hope that both Johnson's can be had up in a Court of Law, and him especially being a blabbermouth, goes and perjures himself accidentally and gets the due punishment of a prison sentence.

CSWife · 29/01/2022 20:29

Yes exactly, he needs to go further than Wales so he can be away for longer. Plus also have something so say when next questioned at PMQs about party gate being a distraction:

"Ah, yes, well you see that's just not true. Simply not true at all. Just this last weekend I took a trip to Ukraine. Lovely place. A few wobbles on the horizon but I'm sure nothing which we can't iron out. And to that end, let me tell you this, I've had a telephone call with Mr Putin, of er, er, Russia and yes, well, he's a lovely chap. We got on very well and I think we've come to an understanding."

DuncinToffee · 29/01/2022 20:29

New evidence in the Jennifer Arcuri case as well

www.theguardian.com/politics/2022/jan/29/fresh-revelations-about-jennifer-arcuri-affair-threaten-to-damage-boris-johnson

Boris Johnson is facing damaging new revelations about his relationship with the US businesswoman Jennifer Arcuri after hundreds of page of notes and documents were handed to officials at the Greater London Authority (GLA) overseeing two separate investigations into their affair.

Blossomtoes · 29/01/2022 20:43

Who gave Carrie Johnson's friends the access codes to the flat?

I wonder, who on earth could it have been? 🤔

Peregrina · 29/01/2022 20:47

When I think of the Security vetting I had to undergo first for AERE Harwell, and much later, the MoD and at no time did I have access to classified material, I just wonder why anyone bothers. It seems the PM's wife's chums can wander in and out at will.

Notonthestairs · 29/01/2022 20:48

"It is claimed that the pink (STRAP) papers were left lying around and spilling out of Johnson's red box

A third Downing Street source says Johnson's red box was sometimes left outside the door of the flat on Saturdays and that it would be there in the morning and appear untouched in the evening"

There's a surprise! Meanwhile Carrie's mate could come and go. No wonder the decorator was wandering about.

Notonthestairs · 29/01/2022 20:50

Mates - I'm not suggesting CJ only has one friend.

My brother works in a facility where us siblings and our parents also had to be vetted!
Blossomtoes · 29/01/2022 21:10

Well, if this turns out to be true, he’ll have to go.

Peregrina · 29/01/2022 21:22

Well, if this turns out to be true, he’ll have to go.

You would think so, but I dare say those people apologising for him will argue that we have no evidence that Carrie's chums have seen classified info. I can imagine that there will be at least some back bench Tories who are apoplectic about this, even if the usual Front bench are doing their 'whatever' act.

Blossomtoes · 29/01/2022 21:26

Surely it doesn’t make any difference who has or hasn’t seen them? It’s the fact that he’s so lax with national security that’s the issue.

Peregrina · 29/01/2022 21:36

I agree, but we have seen on these threads how breaking the rules that were imposed by him and his Government on us the general public have been spun as just eating a piece of cake while working.
