Part 4

OP posts:
CryingAtTheDiscotheque · 31/01/2022 09:08

The really interesting question is who is pulling Johnson’s strings
Frost,Steve Baker and the CRG/Brexit nutters?
Russians - Lebedev et al?
Carrie and the eco-influencers?
Red wall MPs?

If we had a strong leader we wouldn’t need to be asking these questions of course.

Alexandra2001:
People are named up and down the country after getting FPN's why should civil servants or anyone in Government be any different?

Are they named by the police, though, or are they names that have come to light of people who have refused to pay and therefore gone to court?

CryingAtTheDiscotheque · 31/01/2022 09:10

I see Frosty the Conman is on manoeuvres this morning tweeting about the NI increase… the CRG seem desperate to get him into no 10, I imagine to deliver their Singapore on Thames vision of Brexit…

merrymouse · 31/01/2022 09:10

The real issue is the endless lying

And for the party, the endless lying about such stupid things.

So much political capital is being wasted on wallpaper and parties and Jennifer Arcuri etc etc

ClaudineClare · 31/01/2022 09:11

DuncinToffee thanks for posting that article.

No.10 hardened their hearts against mitigations for the bereaved, but partied on. I think that fact will spark more anger.

I was named for for a traffic offence, fined with a FPN in a local rag.

Plus i seem to remember folk being fined with Covid FPN's being named.

Florianus · 31/01/2022 09:13

The real issue is the endless lying - which is why the squirrels would love to divert us onto “ refreshments at work”, cake and the size of a donkey field!

I doubt it. The endless lying was expected when Johnson was elected. It should surprise nobody and is not something that even needs diversion !

ClaudineClare · 31/01/2022 09:14

@Alexandra2001 I am really sorry, I misread your post as People are NOT named for some reason. My brain is not working this morning.

DuncinToffee · 31/01/2022 09:15

ClaudineClare, yes.

They said that we the public were not be trusted with bereavement support bubbles for those who had lost close family, suffered miscarriage, the stillbirth of a child or neonatal death.Angry

I looked up some but they had all gone to court - at which point, if the case is lost, it becomes a conviction and appears in court records.

I thought FPNs were normally "private" matters - they don't appear as criminal records, they don't appear on DBS checks etc.

So, presumably the police fed your name to the local press?

That is my bone about Starmer. As someone said earlier in the thread, we would love to know his policy on things such as education - but he doesn't tell us and simply goes on and on about parties. Hopefully he will up his game as elections approach.
Peregrina · 31/01/2022 09:23

Why should Starmer not play his cards close to his chest for now? If his policies are good the Government will shamelessly steal them.

UnconditionalSurrender · 31/01/2022 09:27

So much since I went to the cinema last night. I've just binge read.

The Gove Christian forgiveness thing is weird as fuck. Maybe he thinks he can suck up to Steve Baker and JRM and the rest of the right wing Jesus lovers in a bid for the top job.
However its not as bad as this quote from him in the same interview.
"The Prime Minister has been clear that mistakes were made and he’s taken responsibility for those.".
Maybe he misheard from under whatever rock he has been hiding but Johnson taking and admitting responsibility is laughable. I'm sure he was waiting for Sue Gray, as we all are.

Give it a rest please! Go start a thread on Labours lack of policies.

Who knows about Russia, but certainly all the rest. There is no way it’s possible to make coherent policy out of that mess.
Alexandra2001 · 31/01/2022 09:31

@UnconditionalSurrender

Christian forgiveness requires contrition and asking for forgiveness, Bozo has displayed none, so cannot expect any.

Not now they won’t.

That would require some direction from the top. At the moment Johnson is just flailing around trying to shore up support by promising things to people with diametrically opposed views.

merrymouse · 31/01/2022 09:34

Tory MPs might have been happy for Johnson to lie to the public, but it’s a different matter when he lies to them.

Apologies. I didn't realise that you had appointed yourself moderator.
UnconditionalSurrender · 31/01/2022 09:37

Is Johnson still going to the Ukraine? Is he going to be wearing a super army soldier outfit? How many medals will he give himself? I'm hoping for at least an Idi Amin chestful.

CryingAtTheDiscotheque · 31/01/2022 09:42

Who knows about Russia

Yes, we will never know. What we do know is (i) Johnson delayed the Russia report for 18 months and has not taken a single step to address the concerns identified in that report (ii) Johnson ennobled Lebedev and has holidayed at his house(s) (iii) Johnson last week pulled the economic crime bill - why, if he is serious about addressing laundering of Russian money and/or hitting the oligarchs?

He is also short of money, was regarded as a security risk by previous PM, and appears to be partial to "refreshments".

CryingAtTheDiscotheque · 31/01/2022 09:43

*I'm hoping for at least an Idi Amin chestful"

Grin We're gonna need a bigger dressing up box!

longwayoff · 31/01/2022 10:01

Why raise "the failings of Alan Clark"? Iirc that was to illustrate the slavish devotion that he, and those of similar character, can inspire in their supporters. Describe that as a failing if you choose; he and they would say otherwise. I'm surprised you're not a fan.

This made me laugh. Someone needs to order a convoy of armour plated stretch limos.

Imagine if Boris did have an army background. Scary thought seeing him operate a gun.

longwayoff · 31/01/2022 10:05

Well Unconditional there's a wardrobe full of spare uniforms round at Prince Andrew's, medals and braid extra. Quick, Carrie, get in early before Fergie puts them on Ebay.
