Been offered a new job with a slight pay rise and a promotion but it is less annual leave with no option to buy more leave. The new job will be more stress and I am worried the lesser leave will add to the stress.

38 days including public’s but can take anytime

slaybell · 27/01/2022 22:17

30 days plus public holidays

notacooldad · 27/01/2022 22:20

35 + bank holidays but with a rota that gives us a long week end off every month and a week that gives us 6 days off a month.

heyitsthistle · 27/01/2022 22:22

27 + bank holidays + three surprise! days off over Christmas + option to buy five days.

Keke94LND · 27/01/2022 22:22

At my old job I got 25 days plus bank hols plus a week off at Christmas (so really 30 days holiday) I god a new job that came with quite a bit more money, but only 21 days holiday plus bank holidays and no extra time off at Christmas (so time off over Xmas comes out of the 21 days).. I didn't realise how important these extra benefits were tbh and I am now interviewing for a job in the civil service that is less money but the benefits and holiday allowances are 10 times better, I find it really important and have definitely learnt a lesson. I feel like I am constantly trying to save days and make sure I use my days wisely, I feel anxious when friends or family arrange holidays because I'm like ah do I have enough holiday left! My boyfriend gets a whole extra week off than I do, he wanted to go away end of last year but because I had no holiday left he had no one to go with so he just took a week off at home. I find it really restrictive. But my job/boss is restrictive anyway and there's zero flexibility which probably doesn't help

murasaki · 27/01/2022 22:23

25 plus bank holidays plus 6 paid closure days, so 39. Rarely manage to take them all though.

Hairyfriend · 27/01/2022 22:23

35 days + bank holidays

ContadoraExplorer · 27/01/2022 22:23

25 plus 9 stats (Scotland). Standard at my work is 21 days A/L but I negotiated my contract before starting as I wasn't willing go compromise on the holidays I had.

marieantoinehairnet · 27/01/2022 22:23

30days plus public holiday and then you can also buy 5 days on top

Ireolu · 27/01/2022 22:25

30 days

Florencenotflo · 27/01/2022 22:26

I get 28 plus bank holidays. We have the option to buy or sell 2 weeks I think.

I used to get 25 but you get an extra 3 once you've worked there 5 years+. Further up the pay scale you go the more days you get up to a maximum of 35 I think.

EmmaGracemum · 27/01/2022 22:27

33+bank holidays

Sofiegiraffe · 27/01/2022 22:27

33 days plus bank hols

gamerchick · 27/01/2022 22:27

What we get doesnt matter though does it? I get 4 weeks including bank holidays. It's enough. It apparently isn't for some.

You have to weigh up whether it's worth it or not.

gamerchick · 27/01/2022 22:28

Plus bank holidays rather

Darbs76 · 27/01/2022 22:28

30 days plus bank holidays. Also we work flexi and can take up to 3 days per month

LeedleLee · 27/01/2022 22:28

33 days plus bank holidays.

CoverYourselfInChocolateGlory · 27/01/2022 22:29

25 days plus option to buy back 5 more. Which I have done.

AlizeeEasy · 27/01/2022 22:29

27 plus bank holidays and option to buy up to 3 more with money they give me (we get 3% of our salary as extra to spend on benefits like life care cover or purchasing extra days)

DrMadelineMaxwell · 27/01/2022 22:29

13 weeks. It really is the biggest bonus of teaching, and the biggest thing keeping some teachers in the role even if they find teaching stressful or difficult.

ArsleburyBisquits · 27/01/2022 22:32

25 days + bank holidays is what I’ve always had in the past but I recently moved jobs to 20 + Christmas shutdown + bank hols. I think I’ll cope.

Kleptronic · 27/01/2022 22:33

32+bank holidays+1.5 days flexi in a 5 week period if you've earned the hours and work load allows for it.

I rarely take all the flexi but some people arrange their hours per day by it. People without a heavy workload, mostly.

This year we can't carry any leave over (5 days usually) and people are complaining they can't take all their leave in time, but they're still booking flexi 🤷🏼‍♀️

NothingIsWrong · 27/01/2022 22:33

30 plus bank holidays plus I can book unpaid leave as long as boss agrees (basically buying more)

Dutchesss · 27/01/2022 22:34

24 days plus bank holidays. 30 sounds great!

DoTheMerengue · 27/01/2022 22:34
