Been offered a new job with a slight pay rise and a promotion but it is less annual leave with no option to buy more leave. The new job will be more stress and I am worried the lesser leave will add to the stress.

25 plus holidays...healthcare. What are you all with 30 days doing?

stuffnthings · 28/01/2022 08:20

Technology conglomerate with 130k+ employees globally, I'm based in the UK and we get 25 + bank hol, no Xmas/New Year shutdown. No opportunity for TOIL or buy back.

SirChenjins · 28/01/2022 08:21

33 plus bank holidays. I also work 2 or 3 days a week from home which is invaluable as I can fit appointments etc around that and work flexibly as needed, without having to take half days off to travel to appointments. Is there an option for you to do that? 29 days is still good.

Legally in the U.K. you are entitled to 5.6 weeks off a year multiplied by the standard weekly hours on your contract. This is public info so as long as you are not on a zero hours contract you should be entitled to this.

We also give our nanny this standard holiday pay. The only catch is that if a bank holiday falls on a normal working day for you then it comes out of your 5.6week allowance

Penners99 · 28/01/2022 08:42

In my last company it was 63 days per year.

RestingStitchFace · 28/01/2022 17:49

28 days pro rata plus bank holidays plus 2/3 closure days over Christmas week.

Onionbhajisandwich · 28/01/2022 18:29

32 days plus bank holidays and a full week at Xmas.

SunscreenCentral · 28/01/2022 19:09

29 days + bank holidays + days between Christmas and new year. So a good few really.
We (everyone in the country) is getting a bonus day off at St Patrick's day this year and next year a new bank holiday is being introduced in February.
