Just caught Dh doing this. I have told him to put them in the oven where they belong. AIBU

I was the same but am converted by dh!!

Tinkletwat · 26/01/2022 20:07

Best way of cooking them is in the toaster.

notforonesecond · 26/01/2022 20:08

Jambalaya76 · 26/01/2022 20:08

Yes YABU. Toasted potato waffles are the best and a lot quicker than the oven. Have to put them in the toaster twice though

Rrrob · 26/01/2022 20:08

No this is something I’ve discovered recently and it’s a game changer for fast DC dinners!

Mol1628 · 26/01/2022 20:08

YANBU I have tried them in the toaster and I really don’t like it. They need to go under the grill for best results.

KateMcCallister · 26/01/2022 20:09

It says on the box you can put them in the toaster! Mmmmm waffles

Zandathepanda · 26/01/2022 20:10

But the oil in the toaster!?

Either the Sainsbury's or asda ones say not to toast. Bastards! So we just but birdseye so we can toast them. Why make life harder Grin

zebrarobot · 26/01/2022 20:11

Actually 8 mins in the air fryer is best.

lioncitygirl · 26/01/2022 20:13

What?! I only ever cook them in the toaster!!! we had them tonight!

HelloFrostyMorning · 26/01/2022 20:14

How does this even work? They need 15 minutes or so in the oven.

Do the posters who claim they use the toaster for potato waffles also use the toaster to cook pies, and chips, and pizza etc???

HelloFrostyMorning · 26/01/2022 20:15

Oh ignore me. I am getting breakfast waffles mixed up with OVEN waffles!! Sorry! Blush

Chronicallymothering · 26/01/2022 20:15

If they didn’t want you to toast then then they would have made them thicker to prevent this. They’re the perfect toasty shape

coffeetofunction · 26/01/2022 20:15

Toaster all the way. Both my teenagers do this as did I and my husband

SausageRolling · 26/01/2022 20:17

With Birdseye ones it even says on the front of the box that you can cook them in the toaster!
Much easier than the oven/grill especially for a quick lunch.

They are talking about oven waffles though!

Never tried it myself but I know people who do and swear by it

userxx · 26/01/2022 20:20

I couldn't risk breadcrumbs sticking to my waffles, I'll continue using the oven.

girafferaffle · 26/01/2022 20:20

Waffley versatile

Chely · 26/01/2022 20:22

Buy mini waffles then he'll lose them in the toaster 🤣

WhyYesYABU · 26/01/2022 20:24

I haven't had these since I was a kid (and now must buy some) but don't remember them bring that large. Even in a four slice isn't it a pain for more than 2 people, especially if you have to toast twice? Surely easier to chuck in oven with whatever other glorious beige delicacies you're serving them with?

PivotPivotPivottt · 26/01/2022 20:25

I always put them in the toaster. I put them in on the defrost setting for a few minutes then change it to normal toast setting. Take about 20 minutes in the oven!

Patbutchersarrow · 26/01/2022 20:32

I did this once, tripped the electric and broke the toaster! Never again!! Blush

GlumyGloomer · 26/01/2022 20:33

Toaster waffles are a huge time saver, and it's more efficient than heating the whole oven when you just want 1 or 2 waffles.
I only discovered you could do this about a year ago, it was a revelation.

madisonbridges · 26/01/2022 20:35

If you can out frozen potaro waffles in the toaster, can you put frozen hash browns in there?
