I do! I'm obsessed! I love walking round looking at all the good memories. I always scour the charity shops for more frames!
But I never used to, I think it was because I never had time to get photos printed but you can do it online now.
I have noticed my parents never had our photos up though. I have given framed photos to family before of us all having a nice day out, some put them up but some don't and I was wondering if I committed some kind of faux pas giving photos for other people? What would you think?
I wouldn't gift wall art because I think that's a bit off but a photo I didn't think think was the same category.

A few, but not many. We have two small ones from our wedding day on shelves in the living room. That’s it - everything else is art we like.

CMOTDibbler · 19/01/2022 17:09

I have a photo of my late parents in my office, and a photo of DH and I on our wedding day in our bedroom but that's it.

PamelaFff · 19/01/2022 17:09

Yes I have pictures up in various places but I have to say I’m not a fan of the huge posed family pictures above the mantelpiece that a few of my friends have…

rainbowandglitter · 19/01/2022 17:09

No I don't even have 1 photo up.

FindingMeno · 19/01/2022 17:10

I don't because I know what everyone looks like and I enjoy clear walls.

WhosThatBehindTheFlask · 19/01/2022 17:10

Mostly in the office. Small framed photos of each close family member.

Though I do have a particular favourite of me and my mum downstairs in the living room.

Bluebluemoon39 · 19/01/2022 17:10

Yes, I love having photos of the dc everywhere and from our wedding day as they make me smile when I'm dusting them!
Also because I have lots of really lovely photo frames and I think things like that make a house a home.

KindergartenKop · 19/01/2022 17:12

My parents never displayed our school photos because they didn't want us to think we were the centre of the universe Sad

Thatsplentyjack · 19/01/2022 17:12

Loads. Mainly of the children. Dp and I are in a couple, and a few of current dog and previous dogs. I love photos, and I hate bare walls, they make me feel empty.

Evanesco · 19/01/2022 17:12

Photos in frames are nice but we have barely any, we were actually gifted a framed photo of our own wedding from my parents as we hadn't bothered putting any up Grin

I wouldn't give photos of myself/my family to others though if I'm honest.

I detest photos on canvases though. I think they look awful and canvas should be for paintings.

PaganOfTheGoodTimes · 19/01/2022 17:12

I have a couple but my best present ever was an electronic frame which displays loads of photos - I might not get round to printing photos but it’s no trouble to load them from my phone!

Fridaysgirl17 · 19/01/2022 17:12

Yep we have photos & some canvasses,my parents always had/have pictures up of all our family, extended family etc. I print lots of my photos esp ones of special times as I'm afraid I'll lose them all on my phone,I also make some dedicated photo books,I had made a few for my mom as she was in a care home & loved pictures, after she passed the nurses said she absolutely loved them & would sit looking at them for hours which really warmed my heart ♥️

MsAgnesDiPesto · 19/01/2022 17:13

No. I hate it. I know what I, and the people and places I love look like. We collect prints and have those hanging all over the house instead.

ecoanxiety · 19/01/2022 17:13

@FindingMeno

I don't because I know what everyone looks like and I enjoy clear walls.
I don't have photos of posing, I do have a few school photos up but I like photos of days out or going to the park or something

My husband is a professional photographer and has taken plenty of photos but we have no photos of our children or grandchildren displayed in our house.

I don't know why we don't 🧐 and I don't think we will start either.

GertrudePerkinsPaperyThing · 19/01/2022 17:14

Yes! Mostly small frame photos of the children, or the three of us in various combinations. Some of our wider family but not many.

I don’t really go in for massive canvas prints, or professional “shoots”, but I do like to see happy memories about the place.

GertrudePerkinsPaperyThing · 19/01/2022 17:15

Have plenty in albums too!

notacooldad · 19/01/2022 17:15

We dont have any photos of family or each other up.
Theres no reason why. I'm not against them or anything. I just like the art that I have instead!

Farrandau · 19/01/2022 17:16

No. One small one of DH snuggling a newborn DS in my hospital bed on my desk. I don't like photos on the wall. I think there's something twee about it.

Moonface123 · 19/01/2022 17:20

No, none.
l don't feel the need, l used to when my sons were younger, l never take selfies either.

behindlings · 19/01/2022 17:21

I've got a slight preference for albums over photos on the wall. The reason is that photos on the wall sort of become 'invisible' after a while (to me anyway) - I get used to seeing them and forget to look at them properly? Whereas having them in an album I can get them out occasionally and really enjoy them. I do still have a couple of framed ones around the house though.

The exception I think would be a digital screen version that cycles through different pics, as mentioned above, but I don't have one of those!

Sartre · 19/01/2022 17:23

Yeah, I have a few downstairs in the living and dining room. I’d like to have more in the hallway as well but frames can be pricey so haven’t got around to it. My Mum has photos everywhere of all of us, it’s almost like a shrine to us and it’s a bit odd. She’s just mega proud of us I guess Grin.

Diditopknot · 19/01/2022 17:24

No.
But I’m weird when it comes to photos.
None of my family and I do not have any pictures of me at all.
I take the pictures but refuse to be in them. The thought of seeing my face on a wall makes me feel physically sick.
I have some pictures of the kids up but that’s dh who put them up not me.
Not a fan.

My mother has every wall covered in photos of mainly one of her grandkids. She has 4 grandkids but only has lots and lots of the one.

Glitterygreen · 19/01/2022 17:24

I have a few in frames standing up but I'm not a huge fan of photos on the wall so we don't have any hanging.
