I do! I'm obsessed! I love walking round looking at all the good memories. I always scour the charity shops for more frames!
But I never used to, I think it was because I never had time to get photos printed but you can do it online now.
I have noticed my parents never had our photos up though. I have given framed photos to family before of us all having a nice day out, some put them up but some don't and I was wondering if I committed some kind of faux pas giving photos for other people? What would you think?
I wouldn't gift wall art because I think that's a bit off but a photo I didn't think think was the same category.
Aibu?

Not of me except a couple of wedding photos that dont show my face. I hate photos of myself.

Photos of our parents and our children when young - yes, upstairs, where I suppose generally you only expect your closest family and friends to see them, though why I should feel that way I do not know. I love my family and children and dont like blank walls.

LuckyMeISeeGhosts · 19/01/2022 17:52

I have two framed photos of me and DH in our bedroom, alongside of one of me and my DParents.

Aside from that, there's zero family photos anywhere else in the house. We have lots of other photos up, but those are of things we have active interests in.

Angel2702 · 19/01/2022 17:54

No I don’t have any surfaces really to put them on. We have a bigger digital frame in the living room and I change the playlist on that frequently.

FuzzyPenguin · 19/01/2022 17:54

I have 3 photos up.
One wedding photo in the living room and bedroom. And a selfie of all of us in the living room too. I am not really a fan of photos everywhere these are small 6x4 prints.

My DS7 is a fan of photos a shelf full of photos in his room of his friends as he missing them through lockdown.

JanuaryBluehoo · 19/01/2022 17:55

Yes!!
I love my catching on one and it reminds me of where we have been or that day etc.

I don't think it looks twee and its mixed in with other stuff on the walls.

labazslovesliving · 19/01/2022 17:55

Oh i love photos and I like being a proud granny displaying any photos given to me from the parents

Fireblanket · 19/01/2022 17:55

No. I find photos make me feel really sad.

Mommabear20 · 19/01/2022 17:57

Yes but only of our DC (some of them are along side their cousins)

Bigoldhag · 19/01/2022 18:00

Not one in my house 🤣

I get given a few pics in frames of nieces and nephews, i usually take them out of the frame and pop them on the fridge and cycle them out when a new one comes.

I just don’t like photos as wall art etc visually, it feels out of place and cluttered in my home.

Sheabutterisdelish · 19/01/2022 18:01

I absolutely love photos and have lots everywhere. None posed or professional just snaps of family and friends. I love love seeing happy faces and remembering days spent together over the years. Always a bit baffled by people who just have a wedding photo, friend of mine had two photos only on her wall and that was those boring head shots of her DC's graduating. Very sterile and impersonal.

Cameleongirl · 19/01/2022 18:01

We have a couple of our wedding and the children. We prefer paintings and prints on the walls though. My IL’s have loads of photos of their children up, it does make me smile to see enlarged baby and toddler photos of DH!

Sheabutterisdelish · 19/01/2022 18:02

Fireblanket

That's too sad, why do they make you feel like that?

LublinToDublin · 19/01/2022 18:02

@ecoanxiety

Ps don't know what my aibu is I think my pist changed course while I was writing it
Grin I wondered! I think yanbu to have photos up but I think yabu to give framed photos to others.
Kendodd · 19/01/2022 18:08

None on the walls but some in frames on the piano.

maddiemookins16mum · 19/01/2022 18:10

Have a lovely one of DD with a bucket on her head (she was 2, not 17). One of my Mum (I kiss it regularly as miss her soooo much) and a really natural wedding photo which makes me laugh.

IncompleteSenten · 19/01/2022 18:12

Yes. I've got a couple of cute ones of my children when they were toddlers. There's one of my late grandparents and one of my lovely mum in law who died recently.

muddyford · 19/01/2022 18:13

You are NBU giving family photos but BU framing them. That puts pressure on the recipient to display them. We had a family member do this, and I'm afraid the photos ended up in a file and the frames in a charity shop.

Fireblanket · 19/01/2022 18:14

Fireblanket

That's too sad, why do they make you feel like that?

No idea. Just feel sad when I look at old photos, especially of happy times. I'm probably wired up differently! It doesn't particularly bother me and I like clear walls and surfaces anyway. I have friends who take great pleasure in looking through photo albums. Each to their own.
SleepingStandingUp · 19/01/2022 18:16

Yes in most rooms.

sofakingcool · 19/01/2022 18:19

A few. I have the most recent school pics up, a really nice professionally framed wedding pic and a couple of baby photos of the children. I'm really wanting to get some new art, but waiting as we're hoping to move house this year so will wait to see what we really want and where it will go

Sceptre86 · 19/01/2022 18:19

I have photos on a sideboard in my hallway. dh and his brother are in one (school photo), my grandparents and my eldest dd and ds. I need to add one of our baby girl (4 months). We've got pictures of the kids on our bedside tables and I have some canvases in my upstairs hallway. We've not got any of ourselves though, I would like to do a photo gallery on the landing wall but it's a faff choosing and agreeing on the photos with dh so I haven't yet.

sofakingcool · 19/01/2022 18:20

@Thatsplentyjack

Loads. Mainly of the children. Dp and I are in a couple, and a few of current dog and previous dogs. I love photos, and I hate bare walls, they make me feel empty.
The biggest pictures in our house are photos of the dog... Grin
ChiefAdjusterOfRubensShorts · 19/01/2022 18:22

I have one old black and white photo of my DP’s on a shelf in the living room, but no others.

I don’t even know where our wedding photos are, I’m not bothered because they’re awful!
