I had visions of me looking my most lovely, glossy and polished but Christ I do not.

Coming down the aisle I look like I need neatening up and a good hair brush.

Anyone else?

Nope. Looked a disaster, cringe and wondered why someone didn't have a word
( left hair bobble on my wrist for a start)

But it's only a few pics ( granted, I have none on display) and the memories of a fab day are better .

GooodMythicalMorning · 14/01/2022 18:09

No as I didn't choose anything and I hate my dress and makeup.

Shmithecat2 · 14/01/2022 18:09

I didn't even have a photographer at my wedding. I hate photos of me, so didn't see any point in paying for one.

LittleLadyCece · 14/01/2022 18:09

Yep I hear you! I had my make up done. On the trial it looked great on he day itself I looked for overdone I didn’t even look like me.

irregularegular · 14/01/2022 18:11

Yes. I have to admit I do. There were lots of photos taken (documentary style) and some are not my best angle perhaps. But mostly I think I look happy, pretty, natural and fairly timeless. I did my own make-up and wore a vintage dress. This was in 2000.

Popetthetreehugger · 14/01/2022 18:13

As I’m old , mine were in soft focus 😆 but as I got dressed in an office with no mirror ( surprise to guests wedding) I had one shoulder up one down , like a 70s hippy 🤦‍♀️ Fab day though 🥂🥳

ArbleMarchTFruitbat · 14/01/2022 18:13

Yes. I'm not a very attractive person so I had no high expectations of them but I look happy and my dress really suited me. I have the sort of figure without much of a waist but in my traditional-type wedding dress the illusion was created that I had a lovely hour-glass figure.

CoverYourselfInChocolateGlory · 14/01/2022 18:18

Yes, I like the pictures but I can't bear to watch the video. Absolutely cringe!!!

whoopstheregoesmyshouldet · 14/01/2022 18:20

I look ok but that's it. Just ok. Wish someone had told me I didn't look my best !

gobbledygoook · 14/01/2022 18:20

I really really do - I absolutely hate photos of myself normally, so does my DH. However we both just look so so happy in the photos it's made them my favourite photos ever!

Boood · 14/01/2022 18:20

I love some of them. Some of them are meh. The one where I’m walking down the aisle, I look like a grinning monkey. It doesn’t matter. I remember the look on my husband’s face, and that’s what’s important.

Bluebluemoon39 · 14/01/2022 18:20

Yes, I know I sound big-headed but I look really lovely on my wedding photos. It's not even the photographer either as in ones that other people took I like too.

I think its because it was a bright, sunny day, I'd lost weight and had my hair and makeup professionally done and I was deliriously happy. Oh, and I'd had my teeth whitened! AND my dress was super-flattering. Actually, everyone looks fab on my wedding photos - a few people asked me if they'd been photoshopped (they hadn't ) because they thought they themselves looked great too!
My photographer was brilliant and took loads of really candid ones as well as posed ones.

I look shit at all other times 😂

lineyeyes · 14/01/2022 18:21

@StandardLampski I also have a hair band on my wrist 😩 why didn't anyone tell me?!

ItsTheTreasure · 14/01/2022 18:22

I look awful, but then it was expected as I never normally look good anyway and I didn't lose any weight like I wanted to

RampantIvy · 14/01/2022 18:22

Yes. They are me from 40 years ago Grin

MiddleParking · 14/01/2022 18:22

Yes, absolutely love them. The photographer was one thing we spent a lot on and it was totally worth it.

1FootInTheRave · 14/01/2022 18:22

Yes.

We didn't have a photographer, just what we took ourselves. We were young and ridiculously in love and the pics reflect that.

dudsville · 14/01/2022 18:23

Well I do like how I looked, but I did my own hair and make up, wore a non traditional dress that suited me. The funny thing was I couldn't find shoes I liked, so I had on hideous giant black things that I kicked off for most of the day! I must say though, I generally do not photograph well, and most pics of me are disappointing. If you can, focus your pic collection of the day on the things that bring back great memories of the day, but the pics that drive you to critique your appearance.

PamelaDoov · 14/01/2022 18:24

I don’t like myself in my wedding pics and it’s quite sad. I wish I could do it all over again. The hair, dress and make up was all so wrong, I don’t look like me at all. I was trying too hard to look ‘perfect’ and I hate the overall look.
I do like how slim I am in the pics though!

SarahJessicaParkin · 14/01/2022 18:24

Yes, I do! I love my wedding photos and my wedding was not fancy. My dress was secondhand from ebay Grin.

Generally though, I hate photos of myself until a year or so later. I don't know why that is. So if these are recent pics, give it time

pilates · 14/01/2022 18:25

Yes, I didn’t appreciate my figure and thought I would always be like that 😖

TheCityIgnites · 14/01/2022 18:25

No if I got married now I’d pretty much change everything except the Groom 🤣

Ancientdreams · 14/01/2022 18:25

Yes I did look lovely but the dress did a lot of the work. My face did look shiny by the end of the day which is something I can definitely see in the photos!

ApolloandDaphne · 14/01/2022 18:26

I love mine. I look so happy... and so 80's!!

NiceShrubbery · 14/01/2022 18:27

Cringe then and now. Can't believe I went through with all that patriarchal shite.
