I had visions of me looking my most lovely, glossy and polished but Christ I do not.

Coming down the aisle I look like I need neatening up and a good hair brush.

Anyone else?

I hate photos of me but think most of my wedding photos I thankfully look ok. I did have or v expensive professional make up done though (she was amazing!) and had a good photographer.

Craftycorvid · 14/01/2022 19:20

We both look happy so I’m fond of the photos. We didn’t have a professional photographer and asked friends to take snaps on the day. That said, I was no oil painting. I wore quite a striking outfit mainly intended to conceal as much of my massive behind as possible. I had extremely short hair at the time as well as being a good two stone heavier than now, so it’s weird looking back at them - like looking at a different person.

CMOTDibbler · 14/01/2022 19:22

Yes. I mean, it was 25 years ago and I'd make some different decisions now about my dress but it wasn't as easy then to find anything different. But I like them

Sheabutterisdelish · 14/01/2022 19:26

I hate my hair in them but had a wonderful day. I do regret how I look and it makes me a bit sad but try not to dwell on it as it was a long time ago now and really what does it matter

ShinyPikachu · 14/01/2022 19:26

Not really. My dress was lovely on in the house then I got into the car and the corset bent oddly so my perfectly tucked away boobs spent my whole day looking like they were trying to escape. I didn't even realise until I got the photos back. The bra was built into the dress too so I feel they just look saggy and nothing like the gorgeous shape I had when I first put the dress on.

I loved my hair and make up though so shoulders upwards i liked.

pradavilla · 14/01/2022 19:27

Yes but I think I've looked better. I got married abroad and did have my hair and make up done professionally at the hotel. Was not as gd as it wld have been had i got it done here. Although to be fair it was nice and not over the top like others are with the thick face of foundation contouring etc and then the big lashes.

She did my eye make up really nicely as I asked but it doesn't look as gd in the photos. Least I still look like me! The foundation wasn't high enough coverage for my liking and with the heat it came off a bit.

There's some pics I'm don't like very much others I think I look great, usually the ones I'm looking gd dh not looking so gd and vice versa 😂 We are just not very photogenic sadly lol.

Goldandguns · 14/01/2022 19:30

Not the worst but could've been a lot better :( I had the traditional red desi wedding which I loved but I didn't anticipate how heavy the saree would be on me after the first few hours - I felt like it would end up on the floor by the end of the night! Hair and makeup wasn't bad but I did it myself after an awful experience of a beautician turning me into a ghost for my engagement party. My skills have since improved so only wish I could redo it all now.

LondonQueen · 14/01/2022 19:31

Yes; I almost look like a different woman. Very attractive, pre DC so I didn't look shattered and I was 6 years younger so I just looked younger. I still look younger now when I get enough sleep but that doesn't happen often.

Wotsitsits · 14/01/2022 19:32

Yes because I am clearly so happy!

Echobelly · 14/01/2022 19:33

Yeah I do. My dress still didn't fit quite right around the boobs and I probably should have got my hair cut into a bob like I did literally a fortnight afterwards, but it was an awesome day, and I was totally not hung up of the idea of everything being 'perfect', especially me. I basically looked like me in the best possible way and got married looking the way I wanted rather than looking 'like a bride'.

Cryalot2 · 14/01/2022 19:34

I look nothing like that now.
I wore glasses then, contacts now. Hair totally different, figure much better then. I had a budget wedding and whilst the dress was of that period, now I would wear different .

I don't hate my photos, it is just who we were then and the style.

DerAlteMann · 14/01/2022 19:34

No. They are in a box on top of the wardrobe and have not been looked at since the reception. This is not just me, DW agrees. We looked awful.

Soubriquet · 14/01/2022 19:35

Yes. I looked gorgeous and I was so happy with the photos.

Lacedwithgrace · 14/01/2022 19:40

Yes, but sometimes I wish they were more traditional. We had a weird photographer obsessed with candid photos so we have none of just my husband and I in a normal pose

LibrariesGiveUsPower · 14/01/2022 19:43

Yes but seriously wish I’d paid for a better hairdresser, hated what she did, wasn’t what she did in the trial. She made one of my bridesmaids look like Marge Simpson to boot.

the80sweregreat · 14/01/2022 19:45

Nope, my photographer was pants and I'm not remotely photogenic.
I hate my wedding pics!

StCharlotte · 14/01/2022 19:46

Pretty much apart from my fringe which separated at some point and no one thought to give it a quick flick. My eyes look amazing - huge pools of blue! Never seen them like that before or since.

KiteflyingKitty · 14/01/2022 19:48

I do.

Although I think I’m (reasonably) attractive I often hate myself in photos. I do not photograph well!

But I like my wedding photos. There’s a couple that annoy me - eg where my dress is hitched up & I think my photographer should have been more on the ball about stuff like that. But I like how I look.

KurtWilde · 14/01/2022 19:50

We didn't have a photographer, my exh best friend took the photos and they're lovely. It was January and thick of snow, I did my own hair and makeup and I had a deep scarlet red satin wedding dress (found it in eBay for £40), a faux fur shawl, and evergreens in my bouquet. Exh wore all black with a deep red tie. We actually looked quite stunning against the snowy backdrop. We certainly looked happy anyway. Wow as if that's 13 years ago!

It may not have ended well but it was a great start.

I altered my wedding dress to make a prom dress for DD1.

TinaWeymouthsBass · 14/01/2022 19:54

Mine were terrible my hair and make up made me look like an ageing Las Vegas show girl ( I was 29) I can finally see the funny side now looking back.

LemonDrizzles · 14/01/2022 20:14

No. My make up artist cancelled on me very close to the wedding. Scrambled to find another. Makeup started bleeding within an hour of putting it on. She also did my hair which was meant to be curly. But my hair is thick and silky and did not hold curls. I managed to hold curls doing it myself multiple times in the weeks prior for different pre wedding events so it was possible. Dress did not suit my figure. Felt bullied into some pre wedding aspects that impacted how I looked in dress. I hate hate hate the photos.

Ghostofchristmaspasty · 14/01/2022 20:29

I like mine. The dress was flattering, everyone looks happy and it was a gorgeous sunny day. I kept the style quite natural ( loose curls down/ friend did my make up)though so looked like me and the day was informal.

I have enough pictures of me at uni balls to know I look so uncomfortable in formal dress and with hair up ( which I hate!)

In fact every photo I've ever liked of me has been when I'm relaxed and happy thinking back. Pictures seem to take you back to the moment and what you were feeling.

SquirrelG · 14/01/2022 20:44

Forgot to say - my short hair didn't look much different to normal, I did my own make-up in around five minutes (normally don't wear it), and loved my dress. All that helped as I still looked like me, as a pp said.

Hankunamatata · 14/01/2022 22:05

yes, I was so young and slim

fourandnomore · 14/01/2022 22:07

No, but I’ve never looked at them really anyway! Life’s been busy since and I’m not the type to sit reminiscing really, had a fantastic day though Smile
