I had visions of me looking my most lovely, glossy and polished but Christ I do not.

Coming down the aisle I look like I need neatening up and a good hair brush.

Anyone else?

I like my wedding pics because we are all laughing and smiling in them. That is more important to me than my dress or anything else, although I do wish I'd chosen something different.

Laiste · 14/01/2022 18:31

I look god awful in 99% of photos of me.

I warned our photographer. He didn't believe me .... until he went through his pictures Grin

He took 100s. He narrowed it down to about 30 for the album and we agreed. Of those 30 i like me in about 3 of them Hmm

sarah20212021 · 14/01/2022 18:33

I didn't at the time, all I could see was flaws. Years later and I do - we look happy and I am more tired looking and heavier now! When you're old I think you'll realise you were absolutely beautiful.

SmallElephant · 14/01/2022 18:34

Yes! I had my hair up which I would never normally bother with, and I loved my dress and make up. DH looks ok too Smile

caulkheaded · 14/01/2022 18:35

I love mine. But I had an incredible dress which really suited me and we made our wedding very “us” so I think that helped as I was so excited to see everyone, celebrate etc. I had a friend do my hair and make up so that helped as well I think?

bcc89 · 14/01/2022 18:36

I love how I look in mine. I went quite classic, so nothing too crazy or a trend I will live to regret.. but ask me again in 20 years, because who knows Grin

gabsdot45 · 14/01/2022 18:36

I love my wedding photos. I looked very nice and I was very happy.

TheVolturi · 14/01/2022 18:38

No! I think I looked a bit drag to be honest. The makeup artist really overdid it, and I am normally quite natural. I wiped as much off as I could but then I ran out of time. My hair was brassy as I was blonde at the time. And I now hate my dress 🤣

NewYearNewMinty · 14/01/2022 18:38

Yep, even 19 years later.

Now XH, not so much Grin!

Roosk · 14/01/2022 18:38

We didn’t take any photos at all, so no idea!

89redballoons · 14/01/2022 18:39

I look pretty dishevelled by the end and my nicely curled and styled hair definitely did not last the distance! The photographer didn't get us alone to do posed pictures until after our meal by which time I was pissed a bit "glowing".

But there are a couple of OK photos during the ceremony and a couple of nice, unposed ones of DH and I grinning like loons. So overall I think it's a nice record of the day.

CrimbleCrumble1 · 14/01/2022 18:40

I look lovely, so pretty and young, oh to be 27 again.

Aozora13 · 14/01/2022 18:44

Yes but then my own father had to do a double take that’s how far from my normal appearance I looked! Spent a lot on hair and makeup and photography, although my dress was only £80. But mainly I look like I’m having a great time (which I was).

lightisnotwhite · 14/01/2022 18:44

I don’t photograph well ( maybe it time to admit I do actually look like that!) and my wedding was no exception.

I have a very photogenic husband and had genuinely stunning bridesmaids. I thought the overall effect would be to make me look better but unfortunately I definitely stick out as the odd looking one. I do look ok in general guests shots though with my dress and the results of strict dieting.

Whitewolf2 · 14/01/2022 18:47

I love mine! I was 10 years younger, and look so carefree - now the kids have worn me down, I’m fatter, haven’t had time to put proper make up on and don’t have a hairdresser to sort my hair out! So I look back at it very fondly!

LubaLuca · 14/01/2022 18:50

Yes, I look so happy and glowing. I'm not polished in them - I did my own hair and makeup - but I was young and very obviously in love, so it didn't matter that I'm not perfect in then. Sorry, that was a bit soppy.

TheYellowOne · 14/01/2022 18:50

No. Some of the black and white ones are ok, but the coloured ones are awful - despite liking what the MUA did at my trial, she didn't really replicate it on the day, and in the colour photos my make up looks garish. I'd also lost a stone and was really slim but don't look it in the photos. Yet I look great in the honeymoon photos DH took 😆

Hunderland · 14/01/2022 18:55

Yes, although it was just us two with two witnesses I had my hair and nails done, was in a nice dress (never usually wear one) so looked different and it did feel special.

We went on honeymoon the next day and DH was pulling pins out of my hair for hours after we got home so it wasn't up for the plane Grin

PoshWatchShitShoes · 14/01/2022 18:57

I love my wedding photos. With hindsight, I kind of wish that I had chosen a bigger princess dress, as I went for a slinky silk mermaid gown, which looked beautiful, but I don't know if I'll ever get to wear a sparkly ball gown... maybe for my next wedding 😂

flippertyop · 14/01/2022 19:08

Yes I look bloody amazing and I'd pick the same dress again. It was 20 years ago. Wish I looked like that now

Violinist64 · 14/01/2022 19:09

@ApolloandDaphne

I love mine. I look so happy... and so 80's!!
Me too. It was a beautiful, sunny day, too, and I had a 25” waist, which the dress highlights.
Isgooglebroken · 14/01/2022 19:10

No. Although I do look happy.

Chely · 14/01/2022 19:16

Mostly yes, certain angles though not so much. Any where I can see spillage of skin over the back of my dress bug me but I think that is because my mum pointed it out on the day, couldn't just say "you look beautiful". We looked so happy and in love on the day, now he gets on my bastard nerves most of the time 🤣

pompomsgalore · 14/01/2022 19:17

Hate them. My friend insisted on me getting my hair done in the hairdressers as her treat and I hated it. Wish I'd been at home doing it myself and looking like me.

SquirrelG · 14/01/2022 19:17

Yes. I usually hate photos of myself, but my wedding ones are lovely.
