Today I did probably the most Mumsnetty thing I've ever done. Am the first to admit that when I read about it on Mumsnet I was deeply skeptical, but after today I'm converted. Go on, guess what it was?

OP posts:

Agonised about how to pay the cleaner.

Tillsforthrills · 20/12/2021 07:53

Posted a thread about how to tackle the au-pair eating the naice cheese and the expensive prawns.

Batch cooked a term’s worth of meals
Hidden vegetables in your DC’s food
Booked a holiday for 2030
Bought next years Christmas presents

Fetchthevet · 20/12/2021 08:11

Quietly seethed when your MIL turned up unannounced?

wineandcheeseplease · 20/12/2021 08:17

Cancelled the cheque

Fetchthevet · 20/12/2021 08:18

Asked everyone if they thought this meal was enough for a 2 year old, then posting a lovely photo of a variety of fresh fruit and veg, sliced and diced into fun shapes and served on a beautiful plate?

CaptainMyCaptain · 20/12/2021 08:37

@NotThisWeekSatan

Used a dishwasher tablet to clean your oven door.

I did this today. Lovely old job.

It really works.

I'm off in a minute to put my spare bedding in a pillow case. Genius idea.

Pawprintpaper · 20/12/2021 08:40

Did you buy a special jug and flannel for when you do a poo at home, and a poo sports bottle for when you’re out?

Scoose · 20/12/2021 08:44

Did you T. rex in Asda?

GutsInMay · 20/12/2021 08:45

Waaah! I was going to say ‘washed your skirting boards’. But tbh might not have gone as far as bleach.

Marylou62 · 20/12/2021 08:45

Hahahaha... I so enjoyed this thread OP... Thank you... By the way I have an easier way to get pristine skirting boards... I get DH to do them! (in my defence he's shorter than me so easier for him to reach.. I do the high stuff...)

GutsInMay · 20/12/2021 08:46

Or
Burned your house down because you saw a spider

GemmaRuby · 20/12/2021 08:50

Dorismargaret · 20/12/2021 09:00

Checked yourself into a hotel for the night because DH didn't read your mind and wash up when you asked him to

ElinoristhenewEnid · 20/12/2021 09:07

@Hohofortherobbers yes that's the one lace for the honeymoon. Just could not remember the name!

NCnotmyusualone · 20/12/2021 09:09

@GutsInMay

Or Burned your house down because you saw a spider
Not spiders, but some idiot did actually burn down their house trying to smoke out some snakes (felt a very MN thing to do when I saw it on the news!!). abc7.com/snake-infested-house-maryland-infestation-snakes-fire/11300808/
AllOfTheDwarves · 20/12/2021 09:13

Ate an artisan scotch egg?

Hohofortherobbers · 20/12/2021 09:15

@AllOfTheDwarves

Ate an artisan scotch egg?
Grin hilarious, the fat balls classic!! Loved it
GETTINGLIKEMYMOTHER · 20/12/2021 09:16

Put your loo brush through the dishwasher?

Put a sign on the door saying, ‘Shoes must be kept on in this house!

Another sign saying, ‘Dogs welcome!’

MrsGusset · 20/12/2021 09:22

Pretended that you never read the Daily Mail.

3luckystars · 20/12/2021 09:34

Went to van hoidonk ?

Sorry I know I spelled that wrong but I can’t find the original thread, it was absolutely hilarious. First post was ‘has anyone been to van hoidonk?’ The replies were brilliant.

BendicksBittermints4Breakfast · 20/12/2021 09:39

@Fetchthevet

Quietly seethed when your MIL turned up unannounced?

IamGusFring · 20/12/2021 09:44

Is " skirting boards a euphemism for something else @MagnoliaPaintedWalls ?

Is this really some kind of intimate hygiene thing for Christmas ? 😂
