To think celebs that go on I’m a Celebrity are pathetic and desperate?

Would you go on it and have bugs dumped over you and have to drink cow testicles cocktails and munch on bulls anuses if your career was on the downwards path? AIBU to think they have no dignity, especially now when it’s been on for 20 years and it’s desperately sad and laughable?

This season is pretty boring and shite alright.

PigeonLittle · 04/12/2021 22:34

I agree. The show hasnt aged well.

pangolina · 04/12/2021 22:35

I think the whole thing is awful. The poor creatures they use for the trial, the boring celebrities, the hosts. I can't believe it's still going

Coroico97 · 04/12/2021 22:37

This is the first series I haven’t watched. I love Ant and Dec but just couldn’t get excited about the ‘celebs’.

MyCatEatsPrawnCrackers · 04/12/2021 22:38

I last watched it when Peter Andre and Katie Price were on it and it was getting boring then. How do they get away with so much animal cruelty?

Wingedharpy · 04/12/2021 22:43

I suppose it depends on how much they want/need the money.
The careers that some of these folk have eg. Sportsperson, actor/ess, etc, are fairly short lived and a bit precarious so the temptation to earn a wodge of money, while "promoting" themselves may influence their decision.

Samcro · 04/12/2021 22:45

I haven't seen it in years
Ant and dec are smug twats that need to do the trials

FallonCarringtonWannabe · 04/12/2021 22:45

Lots of people watch it. It clearly gathers a crowd. For me personally, and my personal opinion counts for nothing, I don't get the appear of Ant and Dec and I don't eat animals, so it really doesn’t appeal to me.

Wingedharpy · 04/12/2021 22:47

But, I agree.
The "trials" are not entertaining in the slightest.
Watching folk eat dustbin fodder then vomit is not my idea of fun.

RAOK · 04/12/2021 22:48

It’s had its day.

MustDust · 04/12/2021 22:49

It's entertainment TV and they're people in the entertainment industry, whether they're there to put food on the table or because they're genuinely enjoying, well, entertaining, it's not some keyboard warrior's place to call them pathetic and desperate. Either watch it or don't, but just don't be snide eh?

LadyCatStark · 04/12/2021 22:51

I agree it’s had its day TBH. Especially now it’s in the castle. People tuned when it was in Australia in as a bit of light escape from the drudgery of late autumn/ winter, we don’t want to watch more of the same! I know it’s not their fault it’s not in Australia but I hope they don’t carry it on in Wales.

StoneofDestiny · 04/12/2021 22:55

Never seen the show - but have seen enough trailers and newspaper commentaries to know that it's trash TV.

Sparklingbrook · 04/12/2021 22:55

I like Ant and Dec and thought the show was entertaining when they were actually in the jungle and I knew who the sleds were.
But not watching this castle in Wales stuff.
Not sure about desperate because a lot of them have not needed to do it for the money.

Sparklingbrook · 04/12/2021 22:56

Slebs not sleds!

VikingOnTheFridge · 04/12/2021 22:57

Isn't them being desperate basically the point?

This 👆 I remember when big brother first started. I found the early few series interesting, because they left the contestants to get bored, with only the occasional intervention. This meant that they couldn’t maintain best (or worst) behaviour for the camera because it became a total environment (i.e, their lives). Then too many games and performances were introduced, so contestants were performing all the time and it became tedious. Something similar happened with IAC after the first two series. Also, surely the animal cruelty with be the death of it soon since most people are more aware of the relevant issues these days,
anne2650 · 04/12/2021 22:59

Absolute garbage. Hope they axe it soon.

wolfstarling · 04/12/2021 22:59

I don't like how they mess around with all the animals and insects. It really is the pits.

TicTacHoh · 04/12/2021 22:59

I think this of people who go on any reality show

Sparklingbrook · 04/12/2021 23:00

I don’t think you could call an Olympic gold winning diver pathetic and desperate. Confused He probably just fancied doing something different.

Firesidefox · 04/12/2021 23:03

I can if he’s handed a glass of crushed fish eyeballs and told “drink this”

Totally disagree. These people put themselves in front of us - they choose to do it. So we can have opinions.

It would be weird if we didn't.
