To find my husband eating cheesestrings

What does your DH eat that is really annoying? Mine buys and eats cheesestrings for some reason really winds me up. It’s not like he peels them into strings and waves them in my face, it’s just that surely a 32 year old adult could just have more refined taste than that?! He also loves those little petit filous yoghurts..do your DHs also eat toddler food- or just my man child. Not sure why it bugs me so much.

I have to admit to being partial to a dairylea dunker.

HunterHearstHelmsley · 14/11/2021 20:08

YABU. Cheesestrings are wasted on children Grin

Namechanger20183110 · 14/11/2021 20:09

DH drinks my DS's fruit shoots, winds me up no end.

Most of the kids snacks actually. I have to hide them. The thing that tipped me over the edge was when I saw him eating the toddlers organix veggie crisp stick things DS was going through a phase of eating no other type of snack, H knew this and could've easily had a bag of adult crisps, but no, take the baby's which are extortionate!

He smothers dishes with not one but about 3 layers of condiments - ketchup, mayo, BBQ - it's rank and it stinks to high heaven, the worst thing is when he doesn't rinse or wash the plate straight after eating, the kitchen reeks of sugary, processed tangy crap.

Sparklingbrook · 14/11/2021 20:09

@Almostmenopausal

Ok, for those banging on about Cheese strings being 'plastic' and "I wouldn't feed them to a toddler" here is the proof that they are just CHEESE!
So they are now making bathroom sealant out of cheese according to previous posters. Who knew? Grin
Megan2018 · 14/11/2021 20:10

I bloody love cheesestrings, they are guilty pleasure foods. I eat very expensive artisan cheese too, but still love processed crap cheese.
I’d also sell my soul for a chicken dipper.
I’m 43.

PingedPotato · 14/11/2021 20:10

If its good enough for kids it should be good enough for adults

HunterHearstHelmsley · 14/11/2021 20:11

Oh man, my Dad always calls them "plastic cheese". I assumed it was his age, he didn't really get that things have changed.. but other people are that stupid too 😭

Hillary17 · 14/11/2021 20:15

Husband seriously came home with Turkey dinosaurs when in charge of dinner once.. for 2 adults.

Letsallscreamatthesistene · 14/11/2021 20:15

I think it taste like plastic. My opinion is my opinion. Ive no idea why you're so defensive about it.

Almostmenopausal · 14/11/2021 20:19

Because I had this nonsense from school the other day! Hauled into the Headteacher's office because they're yet more idiots who believe that because something is wrapped in colourful plastic, that it must be junk! Apparently I must not care about my child's health, to be feeding them additive-filled junk like that! 😡
JurgensCakeBaby · 14/11/2021 20:19

I don't like the texture, much prefer a babybel. Last time DH took DS to stay at PIL I couldn't go until the day after because of work. I had turkey drummers for my dinner (had to go and buy them specially), I would never give them to DS and never had them at home growing up, only occasionally in the school canteen. I cook everything from scratch, never used a jar of sauce in my life, but those salty little things are my guilty pleasure. DH thinks I'm ridiculous, we've got loads of nice restaurants little that deliver, a Waitrose up the road, so I could've had anything at all. Drummers is what I wanted.

When I was a student we had a party once and cooked smiley faces , topped then with tuna and cheese and grilled then and served them as canapés 😁

JurgensCakeBaby · 14/11/2021 20:20

@Hillary17 your husband is a top man

Letsallscreamatthesistene · 14/11/2021 20:23

Probably just calm down about it. I still think it tastes like plastic, regardless of how indignant you are.

MarshmallowSwede · 14/11/2021 20:23

My husband has taken to eating those baby yoghurts in the pouch.

Can you imagine coming into the room to see your nearly 2 meteres tall husband eating a snack meant for children?

And it’s not a one off. I don’t know why but for some reason the weekends are his time to eat this. I explained to him that this is for children with baby teeth and he said that I needed to let him enjoy his life.

It was in that moment that I understand why sometimes divorce is the only option.

BigMamaFratelli · 14/11/2021 20:24

I love a cheese string dunked in mango chutney.

BigRedDuck · 14/11/2021 20:25

Cheese strings are bloody minging but hey ho.
DH is a fan of pickled onions. So much so that when I first moved in with him into his - - hovel-- house, I used to find jars of vinegar under the bed.
He still eats insane amounts but they live in the cupboards now. Away from me. 😂

I also bought a bag of alphabites and smiley faces the other day and they are bloody delicious. Next on my list is the crispy pancakes filled with cheese and ham 🤤

Sparklingbrook · 14/11/2021 20:26

I love Chicken Dippers, oven chips and Coleslaw. Blush

Letsallscreamatthesistene · 14/11/2021 20:29

Im not arguing about the nutritional content, im saying, in my opinion, that taste like plastic.

NeverDropYourMoonCup · 14/11/2021 20:29

Mine looked properly wounded when I suggested if left to his own devices, his diet would consist almost entirely of cheese and onion Pringles and Haribo.

He then made his own tea. Spaghetti hoops on peanut butter toast.

UltimateBugKilla · 14/11/2021 20:29

YABU its food 🤷🏽‍♀️

ImInStealthMode · 14/11/2021 20:30

38 here and love cheesestrings. Sorry OP.

Sparklingbrook · 14/11/2021 20:31

Cheese strings taste like cheese to me.

PeaceInMyLife · 14/11/2021 20:32

Another one who loves cheese strings, baby bells, laughing cow triangles and my all time favourite- mini milk yoghurts Grin

PeaceInMyLife · 14/11/2021 20:33

I also love a cheese board with proper cheese too!

Lachimolala · 14/11/2021 20:34

I’m 31 and I love a cheese string, I also really love dunkers, babybels, chocolate mousses and those yogurt raisin things. You’re never to old for kiddy snacks!
