To find my husband eating cheesestrings

What does your DH eat that is really annoying? Mine buys and eats cheesestrings for some reason really winds me up. It’s not like he peels them into strings and waves them in my face, it’s just that surely a 32 year old adult could just have more refined taste than that?! He also loves those little petit filous yoghurts..do your DHs also eat toddler food- or just my man child. Not sure why it bugs me so much.

@reallyworriedjobhunter

I have never eaten one but have about 25 in the fridge. Now I'm rather tempted!
Do it. And review here straight away.
Bordois · 14/11/2021 19:55

@TheLastLonelyBakedBean

Also love a chicken nugget and cheese string salad. Don't knock it until you've tried it!
I always do a few extra nugs for myself when the kids are having them for tea.

Potato waffles with a slice of plastic burger cheese on top are pretty damn good too 😋

whistleryukon · 14/11/2021 19:56

Well I'm with you OP. I'm not entirely sure why, but it would annoy me too! So would him eating a frube etc

SpookyPumpkinPants · 14/11/2021 19:56

@jetadore

Cheese strings are revolting, why not cut out the middle man and just start peeling and eating the sealant off your bathtub?
That's my view too!

Not that they're toddler food! I wouldn't give them to a toddler 🤮

HelloBunny · 14/11/2021 19:57

My DH opens posh things that I’m saving to treat myself / keeping for an occasion. Eats a tiny bit. Doesn’t really like it, then puts it back. Never to touch it again!
He opened my jar of sour cherries (bought when Lidl were doing an Alpine range) which I wanted for Christmas dessert. To put on his porridge. The once! I’ve had to freeze them now...

Sparklingbrook · 14/11/2021 19:57

I saw Smiley Faces in the freezer at the supermarket earlier. So tempted to buy a bag for old time's sake. Grin

Letsallscreamatthesistene · 14/11/2021 19:58

Cheesestrings are gross. Its like eating plastic.

That said, I love babybels.

Willywonkamum · 14/11/2021 19:58

Ah thank you all for the perspective, and bonus recipe/snack ideas for DH. Also got Christmas shopping sorted, think I’ll get him a Christmas stocking full of pepperamis, babybel and pomme bears Grin he’ll literally be delighted xx

Cheese strings are just mozzarella! There's no added rubber! 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
HarryHarryHarry3 · 14/11/2021 20:00

Haha whenever I buy toddler snacks I find them all gone the next day but it’s not the kids who are eating them, it’s my husband! They’re organic, low salt, low sugar, so healthier for us too!

Partnersworries · 14/11/2021 20:00

Love a good cheese string, they’re so handy when you’re on the train for work etc!

Almostmenopausal · 14/11/2021 20:01

@SpookyPumpkinPants You wouldn't give mozzarella cheese to a toddler?!?! There's no dodgy chemicals added, it's just a type of mozzarella! 😆😆😆😆

SDTGisAnEvilWolefGenius · 14/11/2021 20:02

I would suspect that most people have a sneaking liking for a so-called childish food - it’s a bit of nostalgia, and maybe wanting the comfort of something simple.

PolytheneRam · 14/11/2021 20:02

I love a Dairylea Dunker, me. Took one to work recently and my manager mocked me.

Again - how is mozzarella plastic?!? I presume you don't eat pizza?!?! 🍕
OatALot · 14/11/2021 20:02

I eat babybel for a small protein hit.

rathernotshare · 14/11/2021 20:02

I feel so much better about my snacking habits after reading this thread

Pedalpushers · 14/11/2021 20:03

@TheLastLonelyBakedBean omg, tinned peaches with petit filou sounds like HEAVEN!

Love most of the things already mentioned and also those 4 packs of cheap chocolate mousse desserts.

Babysharkdoodoodood · 14/11/2021 20:04

Ooooh. Just reminded me I have a pack of cheesestrings in the fridge. No littlies here any more.

TheLastLonelyBakedBean · 14/11/2021 20:05

@Bordois

You are actually my food twin! I love to do potato waffles under the grill and some yellow burger cheese! Yum!

My DC also chicken nugget fans, I always make some my too. Either to top my salad, in a quick wrap or with mashed potatoes, sweet corn and grated cheese. 🤤

Almostmenopausal · 14/11/2021 20:06

Ok, for those banging on about Cheese strings being 'plastic' and "I wouldn't feed them to a toddler" here is the proof that they are just CHEESE!

TheLastLonelyBakedBean · 14/11/2021 20:07

@Pedalpushers

I get those chocolate mousses and eat them with tinned pear, or I freeze them as a little chocolate ice cream. I don't always have a really sweet tooth but when the craving hits it's good to have something In that lasts a while!

Also love some chocolate custard
