Did I say something wrong?

Sat with group of mums yesterday lunch time. One said she and a friend had booked a spa weekend. I said “what treatments are you having”. Another mum spat her drink out and repeated “ooo let’s all have treatments” Confused
The woman went on to say what treatments she was planning and the other woman kept saying “treatments” over and over again. A WhatsApp group was created for us that day and it is called “treatments”. Is this a dig or what?? Have i said something wrong or am I being paranoid? I don’t socialise much so my judgement may be way off.

No she's just a dick.

Fatgalslim · 12/11/2021 09:19

Well you go to a spa and have treatments so I'm not sure what their problem was

ItsSnotFair · 12/11/2021 09:20

You said nothing wrong. I don't know why the woman would react like that

TannyFickler · 12/11/2021 09:20

I’m sorry this happened. That person is at best an insecure dick at worse a horrible bully.

NineCmNails · 12/11/2021 09:20

Not on you!

Omniscope · 12/11/2021 09:20

No, what you said was perfectly normal, the other woman sounds a bit odd!
In my friendship group it's normal to have a WhatsApp group named after an injoke or funny comment, but I don't see there was anything like that about what you said?
The others are probably thinking 'wtf' too.

MaggieFS · 12/11/2021 09:20

She's odd.

MrsSkylerWhite · 12/11/2021 09:21

Silly woman. Not my thing at all but I can’t imagine what else you would call them?

stripetop · 12/11/2021 09:21

That's not you....

It almost sounds like she's jealous of the other friend going and is having a dig at her having treatments?

starrynight21 · 12/11/2021 09:21

If you look up day spas on Google it mentions treatments in every sentence. Treatments are obviously a big thing when you're at a spa ! This woman must be an idiot to make a big thing out of a perfectly normal word. I'd ignore her .

montysma1 · 12/11/2021 09:23

I would innocently ask why the group is called treatments....

BingBongToTheMoon · 12/11/2021 09:27

Well what would she have called them?

Maybe she just likes the word. Like Miranda Hart with moist or plunge.

Salayes · 12/11/2021 09:29

Huh? I can’t see anything wrong with what you said, she’s being extremely weird.

MiniCooperLover · 12/11/2021 09:31

She's a bully OP, you said nothing wrong

Mollymalone123 · 12/11/2021 09:31

Definitely something wrong with her. Just ignore!

LittleMo234 · 12/11/2021 09:38

Unless there's an old 'in joke' that you haven't been caught up on?

She sounds like a bully, this is definitely not on you.

NotSoNewAndShiny · 12/11/2021 09:38

Typical bully behaviour. Picking on something random, making an inside joke about it - that only she (and other bullies) could possibly laugh about, simply based on you not knowing what it is - and making you question yourself.

Ignore her. You didn't say anything wrong.

girlmom21 · 12/11/2021 09:39

You didn't do anything wrong. They're probably just not used to hearing such long words. They sound like a pair of morons. Bullies usually are.

ChipButtyCurrySauce · 12/11/2021 09:39

I'd have asked the exact same question. She's a twat.

Palavah · 12/11/2021 09:41

Nothing wrong with what you said. She's being a bit of a knob.

SexyNeckbeard · 12/11/2021 09:42

That's what they're called, she's being a dick.

Start reffering to it as procedure instead. What procedure are you having done

Alwayswonderedwhy · 12/11/2021 09:43

It must be something they've joked about in the past that you're not aware of. Either that or she's just very odd.

Megan2018 · 12/11/2021 09:44

She’s a bully. Nothing you did. I’d call her out on it.
I’d start a different Whatsapp group with a normal name.

Marylou2 · 12/11/2021 12:00

?? She's just weird. It's not a strange question or oddly worded. You'd expect someone to reply with a standard facial/massage etc. They're very odd.

chocolateicefan · 12/11/2021 12:02

You asked an entirely appropriate question. She's a bully and she doesn't like you for some reason. Could she be jealous of you?
