Greggs as good as / better than Krispy Kreme

Krispy Kreme are held up as the gold standard of doughnuts and don’t get me wrong, they’re nice. But they’re deeply overrated and overpriced and Greggs filled doughnuts are just as nice. AIBU?

I do like the flavours and dough much more on the Krispy Kreme, but the price is ridiculous as you say.
I love Greggs, everything! So I go there.
I think I could live healthily on Greggs for a month, and not getting tired.

Yabu donuts in general are a disappointment

In particular- custard ones

Greggs doughnuts are lovely fresh in the morning delivered. Their coffee is only ok.

Greggs' Glazed iced ring is much better than Krispy Kreme! And only 60p or so

Morrisons donuts win every time

Sainsbury's fresh doughnuts are better.

Until recently I would have agreed with you but something has gone badly wrong with Greggs jam doughnuts of late All the crunchy sugar has dissolved and made them soggy, I was forgiving when the weather was warm but there's just no excuse now. I wasn't even tempted by Crispy Cremes until this started happening and was fully expecting them to be equally as disappointing as soggy Greggs, but no they are utterly delicious even though they offer no crunchy sugar coating either. I suppose at least they don't promise one and then renege at the last minute

Krispy Kreme are rank! And I've never had a Greggs...I'm not in the UK. Jam doughnuts are the very very best

I don’t really think of Krispy Kreme as doughnuts. To me a doughnut is filled with jam and covered with sugar. A proper good doughnut is annoyingly hard to get hold of. I like Krispy Kreme but it is not the same thing at all. What sort of doughnut are the greggs ones?

Krispy Kreme gives me horrible mouth ulcers. I avoid them now.

Lidl donuts are the best

Greggs caramel custard are absolutely bloody lovely.

I still think an original glazed Krispy Kreme is hard to beat, but all of the other flavours are a bit meh.

Krispy Kremes are crap. I like for cheap the co op jam/custard ones which are vegan and, if I’m going gourmet, crosstown.

I had a Krispy Kreme flavour - can’t remember which one, but might have been something like Biscoff - and it was actually a bit of a struggle to finish. Not my usual approach with baked goods, which generally last about 10 seconds in my presence.

The best doughnuts come from my local bakery. I had one recently mid-morning and it was unbelievably fresh. Lots of rich jam, fresh dough and crunchy sugar.

Supermarket doughnuts are always a massive disappointment. I had a Greggs one today and that was a disappointment too.

Crosstown are better than both

Only the pink jammies from greggs are any good. But then only raspberry original glazed from kk any good

Pippins doughnuts are a local delicacy, had a pumpkin and chocolate one yesterday and I'm still thinking about it....

Krispy kreme are gross. Much prefer old style bakery doughnuts!

Same here think it is cos they use proper nice jam!

I find it easy to resist a Krispy Kreme, a Gregg's yum yum is rather nice if a bit doughy.
I agree you can get better.
I shallow fried some tiny doughnuts a while back and they were so good fresh.
